Though the Smallville reference was nice, I think the story would have been better if Clark just told everyone that he was Superman.

You should write what happens next as a sequel or something. I really like this story and I would love to see it continued.

The problem, katey, is that different writers, series, genres, plotlines and publishers have over the years made a complete and total hash of Lex Luthor as a character.

It has taken me years to understand why the companies behind characters like Magneto, Lex, and the heroic contenders all tend to view continuity as being a four-letter word.

The simple truth of the matter is that the crafters of four-color worlds cannot enforce a continuum. Therefore, there can be no continuity in the long run. Annnd you get stuff like this.

You have to seperate. Smallville's Lex is not the current Lex nor the movie's Lex nor even (or especially) the 80s Lex.

A challenge for you and everyone else reading this review; take the time, read Ken Kesey's _One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest_, then see the Jack Nicholson movie based off of his work. I chose that last part of the sentence very deliberately as the author himself declared that said movie was not his novel. I tend to agree based on comparing the two, his being the creator and expert opinion notwithstanding.

Please note, I am not downplaying the movie, nor do I disapprove of the novel. Both are wonderful. That being said, they are simply not the same work. The sheer gravitational effect of Jack's personality and presentation of McMurphy mixed with the differences imposed by mwedium (film versus print) and transformed the story.

Don't just take my word for it; read the book, see the movie, then consider characters like Lex Luthor or Cyclops in light of this oversupply of distinction.

Flaw. Smallville and Superman Returns are separate continuities. It would be grossly OOC for the Lex of Smallville to become the Lex of Superman Returns.

Sequel? Please?

I keep coming back to this story and just wish that you as the author would continue it or revamp it to fit with the new seasons; because there would be so much material to work with. And also the reactions of Clark's fellow employee's would be a fantastic read.
So please write more!

I have to wonder exactly what Lex was thinking there in the end, but I loved how you threw in the bit of Smallville. It was nice to see Clark be the hero for once.
