Gotta say this is a really good story so far. I usually wait until I get to the most recent updated chapter to review but since this is such a long work it'll take me a while to get that far. Anyway, you did a good job with these chapters.

x.x So... I have been reading this story since I was in my first year of junior high and I'm now currently a freshman in college. I was immediately drawn to the effort in the syntax, and the witty humor that makes the entire piece flow together. Most times when I am reading this story I have to pause and rub my face becuase it cramps from smiling too much. I love this story, I love this story, I love this story!

And of course Riku leaves Hollow Bastion right before Cloud get's there. :) Not that I'm complaining, this dance (Cloud and Riku just missing each other) is kind of fun to watch.

But anyways, this is ChibiFrubaGirl. The same one who so loyally reviewed your fanfic back in the day. I don't have my old account anymore. But I figure this anonymous message is good enough.

Moving on, I know what you mean about the fandom. Not just CloudRiku, but much of Kingdom Hearts. It seems like there's been a general uptake in melodramatic fanfiction, and angst for the sake of angst. That's actually a big part of why I stopped writing on this site. But the CloudRiku fandom has definitely turned, it's just not what is used to be. Plots seem to be getting more and more contrived. Riku is almost always related to Sephiroth in some way, and "Oh noes! Jenova family related angst! How will Cloudy deal?" It gets to be quite dull.

I don't think you're being a brat at all; I also refuse to believe that you ever misunderstood the pairing. In fact I think you have a far deeper understanding of those two than I've had towards any pair I've ever written. Seriously. I think your writing is amazing, I think it's more real than practically any other fanfiction I've read. Your characterizations are spectacular. Please don't think that I'm saying all of this to flatter you into finishing yourstory. Rather, think that, after two years, I felt the need to really give you my honest complitments and sincere respect.

I also want you to know that as someone who used to be on this site, I still come back every now and then to reread some of my old favorites... Please believe me when I say thatof all the stories, 100 Steps to Somewhere is the one I come back to the most. It's really come to mean a lot to me. So for what it's worth, this is just me saying that I love your writing and while I respect your decision to take a hiatus, I really do want you to come back and finish this fic. I think it's safe to say that even if it takes years, I'll still be checking back every month or so to see where you take this story. So, I'll be there for the ending.

lol this story is just, very very fun. I love SquallRiku and SquallCloud, so when i saw this was CloudRiku i said "why not?"

What i found the most interesting was that you published this long time ago and "recently" updated so i had to check xD.

read something about cloud being an orphan and dunno what else but then suddenly the story was on the right course etc. etc.

I've read this before, and it's brilliant. I'm reading it a second time out of love and boredom. Which is totally a complement, by the way.

I love your characterization and how you've incorporated the games to make them a coherent story line. It's a bit difficult with all the anachronisms between the KH series and the FF games. I applaud you for it though.

One thing - in the chapter where Riku and Mickey look for Cloud, he uses his last name. It's just a minor point, but it defeats the whole 'so your last name is Strife' thing. FYI. It's not that important, and it's a bit lame to point out, but I just thought you should know.

Question: do you plan on stopping at chapter 100, or is that just a rounded number? I'd probably appreciate the irony of continuing past more so than sticking with the 100 chapters thing. It'd prove the whole 'numbers mean nothing' point, not to mention be more to read for those of us who love the story. More work for you, but it'd be kind of awesome to say you had a 100 chaptered story.

Just a thought.

I've only started reading a day ago and now that I've caught up to the most recent chapter, I just have to say that I'm overwhelmed and ridiculously impressed with how you pieced together the story. It's almost canon, well except, you know, it's CloudxRiku, which is really fantastic and a hot, under-appreciated pairing. It made me understand the real KH storyline too. And WOW. Just. This is amazing. I love it. 3
