Reviews for Sweet Hopes And Dreams
AlexHM chapter 1 . 11/26/2018
I really loved all the fine baking details you put into the story! You could really picture the delicate culinary palace in your head. And I loved the hidden doppelganger of the crumbling castles while the people survive. Great concept and lovely prequel to romance.
Astral Dragon Spirit chapter 1 . 3/8/2018
Well done. I was so sad for Makoto when the accident happened. But I was glad the figures she made were undamaged. Hope she gets everything she dreamed of from the dinner she’s going to.
Sylmarien chapter 1 . 3/9/2012
oh wow I love this story! The idea of re-creating the moon kingdom in a cake-making competition is genius! reading the description of it practically had me drooling and thw marzipan figures were so sweet -I love those pairings!
TirOrah chapter 1 . 6/23/2011
Aww, that was tragic. T_T Though I'm very pleased with the way you made the competition go. Mako winning would be too easy, ne? Instead she was obviously the best, but something beyond her control ruined it. Very clever. I loved the emotions, the cooking and especially the Mako Cheering Squad.

Ja ne!
Clemen chapter 1 . 4/24/2009
I apologize I thought I had review this story. Great story. I really enjoy reading it. Original and sweet. Great job.
kurokinshiro chapter 1 . 10/5/2008
I actually wish someone would make Makoto’s cookie-sugar-chocolate-sweets castle in real life. Great description. Were you inspired by some real-life sweets-based architecture, perchance? I’d dearly love to see something like the castle in your story. _

I smiled when I read that the palace was ‘populated,’ and laughed out loud when I found out who the occupants were.
Elen-Di chapter 1 . 8/2/2008
I loved this story... I can't believe I didn't review it when I first read it. I'm also a sucker for senshi/shittenou fics, and I love Mako/Neph stories. ) This one was especially sweet (excuse the pun!). :)
Jovian Green Eyes chapter 1 . 4/9/2008
I absolutely loved this! Poor Shinozaki though... Still, it's one of my favorite Sailor Jupiter fanfics that I have read in a long time! Great job!
Tani Barton chapter 1 . 12/24/2007
I really enjoyed this. It was sweet, but not too sweet, and I liked the way it left things open to the imagination at the end. Great job!

As always, what I love about your fics is the way you capture the interaction between the senshi-their friendship and their camaraderie. Just they way they all had distinctive reactions to Mako's success but how all of them were supportive and happy for her.

And the fact that Mako-chan recreated the moon kingdom...and its symbolic destruction once more...

As always, I also love your wry sense of humor. Some of my favorite lines:

Noting Usagi's absence, "I can’t believe she’d miss this. It’s three of her favorite things combined. Food, television and Mako-chan.”

On Mako-chan's creation, "It was spectacular. It was romantic. It was…populated."

“Well then,” Makoto said cheerfully oblivious to the testosterone-laden air around her,

"What was a slight crumb coating, after all, between two people who’d swapped baby bottles and chewed one another’s bubblegum? "
My Name is Tom Riddle chapter 1 . 5/27/2007
This is a great story. I like how you took the time to develop the plot and gradually work through to the ending instead of rushing things. Very well done.
Baine chapter 1 . 12/16/2006
This fic was absolutely brilliant. I love how you took a cake and used it to symbolize how the Silver Millennium fell. I wasn't expecting that at all. It was, for me, the greatest moment in the fic because it meant *so much.*

I also liked how you had Mako unconsciously calling up her memories in order to make the cake.

I'm left hoping that Mako can finally be happy in life. It was also interesting to see that you incorporated Shinozaki's feelings into the story.

Ahh, you have me on a role for more Shitennou fics! *scolds*

I actually wrote a Mako fic once that I never posted and I have the idea for another floating around in my head that has yet to come to fruitation. Maybe this will give me a kick in the butt to stop being so lazy!

Athena Kyle chapter 1 . 11/23/2006
Seriously brilliant! I loved it! Sorry I don't have more time to leave you a longer review, but I loved it! Happy Thanksgiving!
