I, too, don't care for moRon, but concern and growing horror at, 1st the potential: when Rookwood implemented the Fidelius (I saw the danger immediately) and then continuing worry that you'd actually go through with it... colored my reading of all the final chapters. I kept thinking that you knew about the posting on "Pottermore" about the foibles of the Fidelius: That after the death of the secret keeper, that anyone who already knew the secret became the secret holders, but upon the death of the last 'keepers', the Fidelius will fail.
The above is according to Rowling, but she broke her own rules in canon when Hagrid was able to go straight to the Potter's that night and all magicals were able to see the house following that, but Pettigrew was STILL ALIVE until the end of the last book! And would have still been the secret keeper!

Love the story so far. Your ANs are very amusing. I do have a problem with something in this chapter though. Dumbledore didnt tell harry how voldemort knew of the prophecy and in canon harry doesnt learn about snape's spying until the middle of HBP, so how did harry know about that? Speaking of, that particular bit of canon really annoys me bc there should be no way for sybil to have known about snape and him to have only heard the beginning of the prophecy since we know from PoA that she doesnt remember real prophecies and as such should have still been in a trance when snape was thrown out. So the only explanations that there are is that snape was partially obliviated because he wouldn't have held back knowledge at that time from his master, or it was set up after the fact by Dumbledore and he caused sybil to spout the first couple lines again where he knew snape would hear them and run off to tom. Either way it boils down to for sybil to know snape was there and voldemort to be partially in the dark, dumbledore had to have done something to sic tom on the potters and longbottoms that he knew would cause their deaths. Im sure Dumbledore also knew that he would get to "turn" snape with voldemort targeting lily.

I notice Amelia always says "I love you both" when she leaves or they go out for the day. What a difference for Harry from the hostile, loveless life he led for the previous 14 years. Yes, it has been dangerous and painful, at times. But it has been filled with love, and that has accomplished a great deal of healing. Bravo for Amelia, though ... she realizes he needs even more, and with a professional mind healer.

It looks like Rookwood has taken Bella's place as right-hand man ... so to speak. I find him scary, because he is smart and doesn't seem to act out of insanity. He will find a way to use Ron - if he isn't found and rescued soon - and I think it will be terrible.

The Dementor incident certainly highlights why Harry doesn't trust politicians. He was about to find out some important info about the origins or the Dementors, and two idiots who weren't paying attention panicked and caused a slaughter. Granted, the Dementors were the casualties; but Harry knows the truth - there was no attack. Scrimgeour may just have lost Harry's support.

As much as he hates the Dementors, Harry is a man of honor. Taking lives, even Dementor lives, in any situation other than self defense is going to cause him tremendous (debilitating, even?) guilt. That nightmare he was having is a pretty good indication of what will be tormenting him.
