This was a very sweet chapter. A nice change.

Not a dry eye in the house. Well done, describing the vivid terror coursing through Danny during his nightmare. The part where he woke up was full of meaning.

You can tell just how worn down he is, and the fact that it's his very own mother there to save him, and accepting him without knowing who he is...it really brought him back. Nicely done.

To go through all that tortured cell time, and then nearly be defeated by rats...that's a horrible way to think you'll go.

Well done, capturing the instincts Danny has, and gradually leading up to the scene when Maddie discovers him.

Of course, he gets the worst of luck. Those little critters can deliver nasty bites.

That was a very spirit-lifting chapter. You really captured how some people can really be caring in the world, when times are rough.

Aha. I see Danny's regained some of his sarcasm. The little girl in this chapter was a nice touch, too.

That was incredibly descriptive. And very deep, on some sort of instinctive level about death.

I just...I know for a fact that somehow Danny coalesces back into existence, because Maddie eventually finds him, and I'm clinging to that thought. However, the stark fact that he faded like that, into mere nothingness, is startling. Very well written.
