Liked that you show Lee stepping up to take charge of Phillip and Jamie. What started so well, turned on a dime, but Lee's honesty and Jamie's snooping saved the day. Well done.

This is great. The boys are- the boys, and Lee is equally well-drawn. The device of using the phone message the get Lee in trouble was *inspired*! (I especially like the choice of the caller's name, since I know someone with that name and she's always complaining about it conveying exactly the connotation you use in this story.) :-)

I especially appreciate the way Lee explains the message. This is perfectly within character, as far as I am concerned: he would stumble and have a hard time with it, but the man is well-spoken and would indeed know what to say and what not to say to these two teenagers, especially given their father's "desertion." The kids are equally well-characterized.

I enjoyed this story and was actually disappointed that it ended. I'd love to see the day further explored, now that Jamie's accepted Lee, and maybe Phillip changing his tune too. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this story. Thanks for sharing it with us.
