Dick :) Great intro :) Before tdkr, I also thought that he'd be Dick, but now, I think the boy was the future Blake who ended up in the orphanage system after his parents died during the attack on the Narrows. Anyway :) Only Mr Nolan knows for sure :)

First of all it has been way longer than a week or two. Second of all this is very tramatic, and that I would guess is the whole point, I love it, well in a twisted non-jokerish sort of way. Please don't forget to do your epilogue, please? Over all very good story.
