This is easily my favorite chapter in this story because of my soft spot for dragons. Anyway, I have some odd questions for you but it would mean the world to me if you could reply back:

1: When Eustace was crying, were his tears specifically dribbing:
A: Down the bridge of his muzzle and collecting at the end of his nose or snout as he hangs his head
or
B: Down the side of his muzzle diagonally, past his lips and onto his lower jaw.

2: Exactly how would Eustace react if I hugged him and licked those hot tears dribbling down his muzzle with my tongue? Because every time I read the part where he cries, I fantasize licking every last one of Eustace's tears from his muzzle.

3: Dumb question but how salty would Eustace's tears taste on my tongue if I licked his tears directly from his muzzle as he cried?

4: You described Eustace's tears as hot. Exactly how hot are they? Would they scald my tongue if I licked them from his muzzle or would it just feel warm? Regardless, I still wish so badly I could just lick the tears from Eustace's muzzle.

I hope these questions aren't too weird for you but please reply back to them with honest answers. Also, unlike everyone else in this chapter, if I saw a dragon crying, I'd be more than happy to let his or her warm tears splash on me as I hug them.

This is truly lovely! You've got their characters down exactly and you set the scene delightfully. There are so many great oppurtunities for little vignettes in VDT. I'm glad you're making use of them and look forward to reading all you've written.

This is an incredible story! Voyage of the Dawn Treader is better than most books at the day-to-day activities, but it still leaves out quite a bit. You've managed to put in a number of interesting, believable scenes, as well as keep the characterizations very close to the book. I really enjoyed this story, and I'm definitely looking forward to the rest in your series. I think my favorite chapter was the one with Eustace as a dragon. That whole scene where he realizes he isn't going to be left behind was really well done and very sweet. Keep up the great work! This was a wonderful story!

Great Vignettes, I love them. But did you know that Archenland is landlocked? How would they have ships?

Of course I realize how useless it is, lol. After all, the stories are over and done with.

Anyways, as long as I'm reviewing: I think it's very good, I like them. I've always wondered what happened between chapters too.

And a fitting conclusion to the series! Just goes to show that Narnian sailors are just as superstitious as any others - I'm sure Reep was genuinely confused as to the effect of his song and his stories. I liked the naming of the Silver Sea.

This was a terrific series of vignettes! Thank you for sharing them with us! You really made the characters come alive.

Aww. This is the end? You mean we don't get one of the return voyage? Oh well.

You've done an excellent job throughout this tale. Characters are in character but not stilted versions of the book. I really like how, in this end chapter, you've drawn on Reep's desire and his stories of the world's end to cause the nervousness of the men to increase. It makes perfect sense.

Well done.

Ah! It's OVER? Oh, what a place to end it- I never like reading the scene that comes next because Caspian behaves so badly... but then it all ends well.

These stories were all excellent. I can't wait to read other works from you.

I very much enjoyed the navigation lessons - I think it's wonderful that Eustace was the best at it, and how like him to brag about it! *laugh* Edmund hissing in frustration was very him, and it was rather refreshing to put him in the position of not automatically being good at something. Lucy was well drawn, too.

I love the way you pick these things out of the books - I never would have thought about being homesick for Narnia, but it is completely natural! And Caspian and Drinian's friendship is a treat to read - Drinian is very clever and observant.

Your giving their nightmares the face and form of old enemies and terrors was a very, very nice touch. I recognized Caspian's as the hag and werewolf - indeed! Edmund's of course was as awful as ever - Eustace being a dragon - Lucy's was very interesting - and now I am more intrigued than ever about Drinian. Please do write his story! You have made him a terrific character (not that he wasn't, but now he truly seems 'alive')!

And dear, faithful, unswerving Reepicheep. I love that mouse.

THAT was so good. You caught those Dufflepuds spot-on! I never before wondered what the guys did while Lucy was in the house, but it does make sense that they would have a very trying time of things.

And I do love your Edmund. You've really captured him as he is in the books - much more serious and quiet, and even cranky sometimes, but with a logical, wise voice that people listen to - most of the time. I think now in the aftermath of the movie we all get caught up in making him witty and snarky (though that is fun and is a _part_ of who he is) and forget that he's so much deeper than that. So thank you, for making Edmund who he should be! :o)

I do like how you have Eustace struggling to be good - his being proud of himself for not answering nastily was a nice touch. Of course it wasn't easy for him!

The odd feeling of Deathwater island really does permeate this chapter. What an icky place! I do like how they sought out Drinian for help - as a confident and to identify the coins and armor. Adding the bits in about him feeling jealous really make the whole thing 3-D.

"“Yes,” said Lucy.

“No,” said Edmund.

“In a manner of speaking,” said Caspian .

“Lion bless me, I shouldn’t have asked!”" ~ *laughing!*

And Edmund's question about the coins was spot-on, as was your explanation. I loved this bit: "... Edmund announced, pleased to find one memory returning, needle sharp and bright." Lovely imagery.

And you know, I've always backed Edmund in any of the "I'm a more ancient and authoritative king than _you_ are, Caspian" arguments, just because with my blind love for the Four, of COURSE I think they're to be obeyed, respected, revered, etc. But the end of this chappie really made me see for the first time that Edmund is being just as big an idiot as Caspian. *laugh* "“I never saw such a pair of posturing idiots in my life.”" Indeed, Eustace, indeed, and now Lucy's comment at the time makes more sense, too.

Excellently well done, my lady. Every chapter has, to me at least, captured the tone of the original Chronicles, if not exactly like them, and drawn on each character very well. Lucy is bouncy like a child, but still has the valiant nature; Edmund can be a grouch when it comes to Eustace (or was rather) but is still "The Just"; Eustace is suitably brattish early on and is learning well. The others, Caspian, Drinian, Reepicheep, Rynelf, and Rhince are also very well drawn. Keep up the good work!
