Did I really never review this? Years later, I return to it for inspiration. This and Kick Up Sand. Your descriptions are downright artistic. 'the silver line vanishing through the skin under a choker of crimson liquid.' I am in complete awe of your succinct imagery. I know this is Old but dear god, I hope you know your works are still adored and that you've continued writing in some form or another. You were talented when you wrote these, and I can only imagine you've gotten that much better. I'd believe it if you had become a published author. I'd also desperately want to read those books! All this to say, I really hope you're doing well!

I liked the story, very well written. Even though it wasn't said it was Neji from the start, from clues we find out. Poor Neji...having to endure something so horrifying...

And like a previous commenter, Inarae, this is the Naruto world I am sure is just behind the scenes...and the older ninja try to protect us from that horrible fact...

That was bloody awesome, very VERY nicely written.

Wow... That's kinda all I can say at the moment. Neji is my favorite character so to read that was somewhat depressing. Very well written. I've read some of your other work and you're very good.

I just read through Nightingale again. It was too good to just sit waiting for the next chapter, so I decided to look at your other fics in hope of something related to Nightingale...

This was well-written. It had less typos than Nightingale (which doesn't have many to begin with), it was immersive and it was intense. I really like your use of free indirect style.

Sweet Jesus. Let me just start by saying that this story was one of the best fanfics involving Neji I've ever read, period. Your work always manages to give so much background to whatever character you mention, even the nameless teammates that I wanted to cry over. And I'm surprised by how well this would've fit into the canon story as well. It had a very post-apocalyptic feel, even Holocaust-type feel to it.

I found the ending extremely poignant, as the woman simply chews on her pen even though they are in the middle of chaos. Little does she know that she is facing a 15 year old who has committed more atrocities and been more emotionally traumatized than most adults.

Lastly, can someone just give this kid a hug? He never gets a break does he? Neji's one of my favorite anime characters, and you write him, along with the rest of Team 8 so well. I don't think I could praise you enough for the quality of writing that you do. Really really good job.
