Slide Hammer chapter 1 . 8/14 Oh I really like this one. Very well written. This story deserves to be continued. |
Anthony883 chapter 1 . 8/5 Mousse knocks up both Shampoo and Ranko ! I hope Mousse never gets divorced from them the child support payments would be absolute murder to pay. |
Sieghard chapter 1 . 1/20/2018 A really weird but interesting story, I was expecting one thing at the start of the story but ended being surprised by the direction it took in the end. Really it was outside my expectations that had a WTF face while I read. |
Guest chapter 1 . 9/25/2017 "recovering metal abilities" Ranma learns to play music! Either that or a new martial arts technique to manipulate metals. Great story, shame that you haven't been writing new ones, as far as I can tell. |
Galahippo1 chapter 1 . 12/12/2016 this is fucking weird |
Shadow JAFF chapter 1 . 9/5/2016 The way it is written could be fixed or upgraded, but the story itself is fantastic, fitting, and tear-jerking. It is without a doubt one of if not the best one-shots I have ever read. Thank you for bringing this fantastic and inspiring story into being. |
Vangran chapter 1 . 8/19/2016 I love it! Very sweet indeed and while Nabiki kept swinging this way and that, I like how she reacted initially toward Akane's abuse of Ranma. After all, insults over being an "uncute tomboy" and her terrible cooking that could be used in biological warfare are not a good enough reason to brain someone. |
Guest chapter 1 . 12/7/2014 way cool never read any thing like it this was the shit plz make a sequel |
clockright chapter 1 . 10/14/2014 cloud dreamer, Everytime I read this I see things through a different perspective. Sometimes it is a bitter sweet in flavor, more sweet then bitter of course. Other times I wonder if you mean this as a happy version of 'Romeo and Juliet.' Without the death scene at the end. At first it is a brother and sister love with Ranma and Ranko. One that blossoms into a love more pure then any other a husband and wife could have. Then when Ranko disappears Ranma becomes extremely distraught. I think it is so beautiful and moving the way he asks for a blessing. When Ranma asks Ukyo to be his sister it shows so much compassion. Then to later befriend both Mousse and Shampoo and marry them. That I think is the perfect ending. Of course the frosting on the cake is the two girls being pregnant. Thank you for the care you place in your stories. clockright |
Rambo Kirby chapter 1 . 10/1/2014 I'm one of the few people here that didn't enjoy this story. I began reading it due to the Shampoo/Ranma tag, convincing myself that the comatose martial artist would come to his senses. However, while that's partially true, the journey there was... arduous and absurd. This was written in 2001, and I'm not sure if the author will ever read this, but I'm going to give my review anyway. The first thing that bothered me was the abundance of adverbs, the bulk of which ending in 'ly'. Sometimes they were positioned back to back such as: "cutely momentarily". I'd say for a story of this length that 635 words ending in 'ly' is a bit ridiculous. The next structural problem I noticed was the repetition of unusual adjectives. "Her face blanched." It doesn't sound natural. It would be easier-and sound better-to just say her face paled. Words like 'acquiesce' make sense coming from someone that speaks flowery or odd with a good reason, otherwise their random substituted usage sounds like someone flipped open a thesaurus and typed in accepted. Purple prose seems to be meandering throughout as the story comes to a close, which coupled with the plot made it hard to trek onward. My last complaint with the writing is a small one. It's not polished. At times it's incoherent due to phrases or incorrect determiners. Most stories on here are guilty of that, but this was a fairly profuse problem the more the story went on. Now about that plot. At first it seemed believable Ranma would have an epiphany with a manifestation of his feminine side. I soon found out that was not the case. The moment Ranma decided to lounge around in Disney Land I had a problem. He's not that type of guy, no matter what sort of development he may undergo, that would openly waste time knowing he's dying and hurt everyone that cares about him. Still, that's relatively minor by comparison of the later problems. Next was when Ranko turned into a male. Ranma became meek and pathetic, unable to express his discomfort whatsoever. You would think considering what was on the line he wouldn't be treating HIMSELF as he would Akane early on. That's another thing, it just doesn't feel like Ranko is Ranma, or rather another perspective, it feels like another entity trying to change him into a completely different person. Most of what Ranma had to learn to be feminine were not feminine traits, but rather cultural gender schemata (or stereotypes). It's even mentioned at one point (s)he had a similar tendency to Akane (I don't recall which), but that would give the notion that then Akane or anyone that does not behave in accordance to such schemata are not acting as they should. Makeup for example is not unique to females, and Ranma having to learn to apply it for the sake of being one is absurd, especially considering it looks as though his transformation has permanent makeup of some kind. Going further, feminine modesty is yet another ultra-specific gender schemata that has nothing to do with being an actual girl. It's almost as though Ranko was simply turning Ranma into a sissy, or something comparable to individuals in the real world with a crossdresser's fetish, hence calling him a femboy. What's more disturbing is Ranko becoming a boy and forcing Ranma to be a girl and go on dates. How in the hell is that "social training"? There's no rhyme or reason to it, and it certainly doesn't add to Ranma accepting his female side. I'd argue he already had when he'd openly become one for free food, and so forth and so on. Then there was the end of his Disney Land adventure. Why would he choose to live on as Ranko as well? If Ranko is truly part of him (or more), then there would be no reason for him to make such a decision. It's almost as though he either loved her, like a lover, or for some perverted over-glorified sexual urge to be a woman. Not long after were the peculiar repercussions of his new found personality. Ranma didn't act like Ranma anymore, worse than before. He was an asshole marry sue type character. It doesn't matter how much he'd learned in that time frame, he would never act so condescending to everyone; especially Akane. The way she was portrayed was a 2D ME MAD, ME SAD character. Turning him into a genius stud with Goku's power was just so out of place it was nauseating. But I saved the best for last. Ranma no matter what, would never marry a boy. When I heard him tell his mother he would consider it, I lost it. I had to get up, gag, and have some water. This only reinforces my hypothesis about Ranko training him to be a sissy, or something to do with fetishizing his female side. Shampoo would never be okay with the arrangement of marrying two people... and just everything at the end is so cringe worthy. I think I'll leave it at that. I could go on, but that's probably good enough. Hope at least someone shares similar sentiments. |
Reishin Amara chapter 1 . 8/27/2014 Oh my god I absolutely loved this story. I admit I'd like to see one where ranma x ranko happens in the real world, but this was also just awesome...and Ray?u had to mention the Wild Horse as a bedroom pun?lol |
Ikurus chapter 1 . 6/2/2014 Waaah! I loved it, absolutely loved it, until the very end when it became a three way. Not because I object to the idea of a three way relationship, but because there was really little setup. I would have preferred to see Shampoo and Mousse turn into better people by understanding and coming to know and accept each other, fixing some flaws in themselves that I think would ruin a relationship, and then affirm a relationship rather than it be made with the usual amazon 'I beat you I claim you' stuff which I despise. It looked like it came completely out of the blue to both Shampoo and Mousse, and I can't help feeling that while they might have gotten to be friends by then, they were not ready to make a lifetime commitment, or at least were going into it without thinking. 'Got beaten? Fine, I marry and am happy about it.' kinda stuff. Besides that very annoying final point, I love this story, and thank you so much for writing and sharing. |
Omnitroid chapter 1 . 11/27/2013 I really enjoyed this fanfic! Didn't expect that last part, though. Really great. I loved it! |
Guest chapter 1 . 9/12/2013 A VERY GOOD STORY! |
The Reality DumPer chapter 1 . 3/31/2013 That was really good and long. I just don't know what else to say. |
