Catalina Leigh chapter 1 . 11/24/2017 This was great. I do love a dark side, and I think you nailed John’s. Wonderfully written. Though I would love to see more :) |
hajimebassaidai chapter 1 . 7/21/2010 There is a palpable pain for John in this story of what he is capable of and what he has done in the past. You gave a credible reason for why he has these abilities to pull out of his hat and essentially slaughter the best part of sixty men. His coming to terms with what he is and what he has done in the past and has just done is beautifully pitched. The effects of the events on Rodney brings home the consequences of his past actions to John. Neither man is coming out of this scot free. They are both left examining their own beliefs about who and what they are. Simply brilliant! |
fairiekween13 chapter 1 . 11/1/2008 This is amazing. |
Reius Devirix chapter 1 . 1/30/2007 Finally...finally! Someone writes something about the fact that John killed over 60 men in that single episode. Great job on taking note that John really does have a darker side. We need more of that. Great story! |
neptune60 chapter 1 . 10/14/2006 A nice insight into Sheppard. It was a bit unnerving seeing him turn from the easy going fly boy to a cold hearted killer, and this is how I saw him in the Eye/Storm and not really a side of him I liked. I understand he is a soldier but he seemed intent on killing as many of the Genii as possible while he could have stunned many of them. When he ordered Ford to shoot to kill and throw away his Stun Gun I lost quite a bit of respect for him. He could just as easily stopped their attack by stunning them rather than killing. But because he is one of the "good" its ok for him to do whatever it takes to stop the eneny, etc etc. Koyla on the other hand was portrayed as the evil monster, but yet during the whole seige he only killed 2 men as opposed to Johns 50 or 60. But maybe Koyla also feels that he is doing the "right" thing and was just trying to protect his people from the Wraith. I would say that both of them are capable of ruthless behaviour and definitely have a darkness in them or they wouldn't be able to do what they do. Both would do anything to get the "job" done so who is the good guy and who is the bad - I guess it depends on which side of the fence you are sitting on . |
sheppardfan chapter 1 . 8/27/2006 Wow! Very nice. I like the ending very much. |
Dr. Dredd chapter 1 . 8/21/2006 I enjoyed reading this again. All of the characters seem to have a darkness within them. John's just better than most at admitting it. Maybe that's his superpower. |
Linnzi chapter 1 . 8/21/2006 Lovely! The last line was so powerful, that I actually felt my stomach flip! Thanks for sharing such a lovely little tag. |
cybersyd42 chapter 1 . 8/21/2006 Very neat episode tag. Not sure I agree with you in seeing this darkness in Sheppard's character, but the way you've written it makes it both believable and brutally tragic. Nice characterisation of the friendship between Sheppard and McKay too. |
Belisse chapter 1 . 8/21/2006 Oh... I loved this. I love how Sheppard almost embraces the darkness within him making sure he always has it in his mind that he's doing things for those he loves and cares about. Nice |
Alipeeps chapter 1 . 8/21/2006 Oh dark but powerful - I liked it. |
Hettie chapter 1 . 8/21/2006 Hey, Honeymoon Girl, nice tag for The Storm/Eye. I love Rodney/John stories. I liked where you ended it, but friendship being a 2-way street, it would be nice for Rodney to draw John out. I think that he is the one to do it, don't you? You didn't say how long ago you wrote this, but even now, I look back to the 1st season as the most interesting. The characters were more fully formed and realistic, as reflected in your story. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes to you and Congratulations to your husband. |
