I was thinking of ways they could both end up living, including Kurogane being turned into a vampire himself but this ending seemed more appropriate :'(

Beautiful written! Like you said it started off all fluffy and light hearted and then BAM! Kurogane is dying and Fai along with him. T_T But at least they will die together if not at the same time then Fai will follow Kurogane shortly after.

This story, besides being hugely depressing, was beautiful. You really captured the characters, especially in the last few months. I'd imagine Fai would call Kurogane by his goofy/lovable nicknames through the very end.

I'm not crying. (blinks rapidly) Not at all. Okay, I really liked this story. There were some really great lines in here, and I really like the thought of Kuro and Fai growing old together. This might sound weird, but I almost expected Kurogane to become this really weak, frail old man (in a mental/emotional sense) and was really impressed you kept him the Kuro we all love. Great job. And there's nothing wrong with being an angst whore! X3
