It's so incredibly sad. This is the only alternate fate of theirs that I think is worse than the canon. But still hats off for writing such an incredibly heartbreaking story but I think that even if Voldemort had won in the first war, James would have ever joint the ministry or stopped fighting because he was a Gryffindor through and through

This is so incredibly, incredibly heartbreaking. I think I'd go as far as saying that this is sadder than their actual fate in canon,,,so, hats off, really.

Oh man, this is just a truly artful work. Five stars. The plot was great, the hazy setting was great, the lack of dialogue and names and building drama, all great. And then we reach that conversation, and whew, I did not see that coming. Alright M. Knight Shamalan, you win this round. I'm touched and disturbed and heart-broken and overjoyed (specifically, overjoyed at finding something this good- in all of the absolute trash on this site and on the web in general, it's always a thrill to find a speck of gold like this, I feel like a prospector). The characters are so true to form too. Every once in a while I come across a story like this and I just think to myself, man I wish J.K. Rowling could read this. I know if I were her, I would be utterly floored to see that the world I had created could spawn even more acts of genius.

It's a classic "Be careful what you wished for". I always wanted James and Lily to be alive, Marauders to be together.. and then this happens.. Utterly heart breaking.

Wow...it was perfection...thats all I can say,because I think other words won't portray my compliment the right way.
I have read plenty J/L fanfictions but this was the only one whose each and every sentence was well written.
