This would have been a very likely scenario if Sarah had been killed.

Wow. This was certainly a very different take on the ending of this particular episode. I like where this went in exploring the drama and emotion that Sam must have experienced as a result of the deep-seated feeling that he was cursed and the people he loved were in danger.

The tension really did build to a gripping boiling point when he was threatening to kill himself. You did a good job of creating a tremendous amount of tension that really held me. Your portrayal of Dean and his response to his brother’s breakdown was also spot on.

I liked this one ... a lot.

Oh man, even though this is extremely well written and full of perfect comfort and caring, I really liked Sarah. Sorry to see her dead.

This was powerful, and so true: “You kill yourself, you kill me, Sam!” Neat to read this story in light of Dean's deal, and how it clearly showed that Dean couldn't live without Sam, just as you portrayed.

I, for one, INSIST on happy endings. LOL So I'm glad to hear that you favor them too. Nice bit of comfort at the end.

Wow, I think you ARE evil. A cliffhanger like that? I don't think Sam would've really killed Dean, and Dean's right, a bullet in the leg wouldn't stop him from coming after Sam, just like a bullet in the shoulder didn't in BUABS. *happy sigh* It's one of the things I love about him. ;)

Now Dean just needs to get that gun away from Sam...

Some great lines: "However, dozens of images of a lifetime with Sam were already flashing in his mind and blending with the terrible scene in front of him... And breathing was no longer an option, since any fight for survival in him seemed to have left his body the moment he’d found his little brother lying on the floor." "It did little to ease his remorse, but while Dean was pretty sure he could live with remorse, he was just as sure he couldn’t live without Sam."

Glad they didn't kill Sarah on the show. I really liked her. Better than Ruby for sure. ;)

Poor Sam. I hope Dean can get through to him.

Now that's just evil, to leave us there! Good thing I only read completed fics, I can just run to the next part. ;)

Gosh I felt sorry for all the people who were forced to read this story without the capability to advance from chapter to chapter like I was able to. LOL Poor guys. ;)

That said, I made myself rewatch this particular episode before reading this story (It'd been awhile) So with the episode fresh in my mind, I began to read and although I sort of liked Sarah's character, I wasn't too upset to read of her death, I mean, how else were we to get to such fantastically written brother moments. :D Awesome job with an altermative ending and once again I'd like to offer my thanks for another wonderfull written story. Awesome!

It was really good, but...somehow, I preferred your other stories. I think Dean would have yelled at Sam for threatening to shoot himself. I don't know, I just...wish the story had been longer, more fleshed out. Still, you write really well.
