I liked that Jason knew already and kept the secret, and the idea of him taking over as Superman kinda reminds me of the 'Walking Phantom' I think that would be the name, a little comic I used to read when I was younger.

Anyway, I'm digressing, I really think you did a pretty nice job here and you should write more!

"He hoped adding the line “always around” might spark a memory in her" I liked this - original - we usually see that he has slipped and mentally doesn't want her to guess - nice touch.
