I'm reading this striaght after 'Old Sam'. The bird life in your part of the world certainly seems to put a lie to the expression 'bird-brained' - they seem more intelligent than the humans!

I just found this and let me say I almost died laughing. Imagine, the mighty Jeff Tracy, done in by a bird! And to think I thought he had the patience of Job, guess not!

Head of a multi-million dollar corporation outsmarted by a bird. Kinda makes the world seem a little brighter! Nice story. made me laugh.

Great story! I can just see Jeff getting frustrated and then that frustration growing until he was ready to shoot the pheasant. His mother's comments throughout the story were too funny. Even as children, Gordon and Alan were a handful.

That was very funny! Honestly, Gordon and Alan, "we want to see a dead bird!" Boys! I enjoyed the bit at the end, where Jeff was hiding under the blankets. Here's the founder of IR, hiding under the blankets! From a pheasant! :D

Leave it to Gordon and Alan at wanting to see the 'dead' bird. Hmm... I wonder who dared Gordon to eat a bug?

I was a little worried that with Jeff being in a fit of rage, he possibly could have shot a hole through his foot. Glad he didn't. Cowering under a blanket reads for a better ending.

Lastly, I think grandma is getting the last laugh.

This has to be, by far, one of the funniest things I have ever read. In fact, I read it twice! I can so see this happening. And to have put the car in the ditch! Oh Jeff...

And I agree with his mother, if he couldn't run it over, did he really think he could shoot it? Too, too funny. The kids popping in and out were great. "I want to see the dead bird" indeed. And the end, hiding under the covers...I couldn't stop laughing.

This was great! I loved how the great Jeff Tracy was done in by a bird. The SUV in the ditch was hilarious. I also enjoyed how you handled the dialogue from the boys, showing who said what in italics. Gordon ate a bug, huh? Fun story.
