THis fic was very nicely written, though a tad AU here and there. [But hey, I don't mind AU.] I love the way you characterized the different characters, giving a brief glimpse into their lives and the choices they made. Thanks so much for the great read. :)

Hehe, nice...I deeply love Unohana...well, I love a lot of the more neglected characters...but this was great. However, I'm pretty sure Ukitake/Shunsui went before Kisuke and Urahara.

Man, this is awesome. It's not so much that the words themselves are anything special or that you make any new plot, per se...it's that you're able to post-rationalize a fairly shallow boy's anime in such a way that character's have realistic motivations and actions.

Wow...this was awesome...yea, I could see how he could have been messed up enough to send Rukia to her execution after this.

Well, I did think it rather funny. I loved seeing all the senior captains together (in their youth) and standing up for one of their own. Unohana's sheer panic was certainly amusing, with what we know of the nature of her shikai. That was pretty cruel (in a funny way) of Yamamoto and the boys to withhold such crucial information from her. Oh, and the bystander Urahara getting gobbled up in the bargain was a hilarious thought too. Brought a chuckle when I saw Isshin's description in my mind's eye.

Please write some more of these insightful stories when you get a chance!

What a marvelously complex character you've turned Matsumoto into! I like the depth of your exploration of her fears, the multifaceted nature in which her concerns about Gin and her captain and Hinamori's concerns coalesce into a story with a single unified fear. I especially loved how Hinamori's questions about Gin segued into her concerns about Aizen.

I don't think Matsumoto ever calls (or thinks about) her captain by his name without his title though.
