I like your version of Michael and the flaming sword MUCH better than the one on the show.

Oh my gosh, this fic gave me chills the entire way through. I LOVED it!

It had humor: "And as soon as your dad and kid brother find out you're awake, they're gonna come barging in here with big sad eyes and gruff demeanors and coddle you to death in some manly non-coddling and highly conflicted way, which I don't really care to deal with, so let me get straight to the point." LOL

And this was really powerful: "The next battle I fight will be the last one. This one is all yours-yours and your family's. And since you're the one offering to tear up hell itself to keep them safe, I figured you might appreciate a little assistance."

Thanks for the bit about free will, too, and trying to make God a scapegoat. I think a lot of people want both-they want to have free will, but still blame God for how bad things are. Nice that you address that.

But that last scene, where the blade turns into a fiery sword-wow. I actually got tears in my eyes.

This was amazing. Especially in light of the current season, amazing that you wrote this years ago. Nice bit of prognostication on your part. :) Even the demon-killing knife later showed up on the show. Perhaps EK read this fic? LOL

Seriously, I LOVE when the forces of good are shown to be helping the boys, and you did an excellent job. I'm favoriting this. I am just blown away. Excellent.

Oh My God!

I love this... The sheer epicness has me shaking. (Not to mention the visual) Avenging Angel! Dean. Fuck (pardon my French) Why are there no more stories like this in the fandom? It is a sad thing. I would love to see a longer version of this story ending up with something like this. There are far too many superpower sam stories... Me want Dean! Gimme gimme gimme. Great stuff. Good dialouge and I like your 'casual' Angel.

Loved this; short but incredibly sweet.

Only thing is, I feel as though I missed something. Who was the man? It's your story and I'd really like to know who you say he is. That character seems (to me) to be based on one from a legend/story/myth that I'm unfamiliar with. If, however, my lack of comprehension is simply because I'm not very smart and/or rather shallow, I would be quite grateful if you could find the time to clarify him for me anyway.

Because lack of complete comprehension aside, this story was fab; well written, believable Dean voice, nicely paced and a pleasure to read (even though, usually I tend to go for epic/novel length fics).

This is a piece I would never have written but have wanted to ever since that line in DT, "What are you and your God going to do?" I have to believe there's Good out there helping them, not just Evil to fight, and I love that someone finally tackled that. Great tag!

Awesome! You are so right, Dean would go into hell, he never backs away from a fight if the cost is innocent lives. And I love the angel man and wanted to give him a huge hug for giving Dean faith.

Oh, I love this! Appealing idea, great writing, and funny dialogue. Your characterizations are wonderful (they had me cheering more than once.) Definite favorite.
