I would LOVE to see what happens when he comes home and explains everything. this story is AMAZING

Love this! Wonder about John and Sam's side of the story though.

Oh my god. That was awful (and by that I mean you're an amazing writer and you hit me hard with the feels). I was so expecting some happy ending where Sam and John realize how crappy they were being. But then it was just super depressing. I'm really not quick to cry at all, but this... Jeez. Poor Dean. The worst part is that I could definitely see his being canon.

Well. On a happier note. I think you're a fantastic writer. Dean's interaction with all the other characters who didn't have any idea what he and the readers knew was great. And the way you wrote how Dean was feeling was just so depressing and perfect. A lot of writers lay it on too thick or breeze past it, but your descriptions of how he was feeling were so apt. Thanks for posting.

shit. that line really got me teary. because yes. they are the ones who walked out on him. and this makes me want to read abt when his father leave him at the beginning of the series. I mean, after Sammy left, his father left too. I cant imagine how broken Dean's felt abt it.

Thanks for writing this, I always wished they would show younge dean snapping for once, and they way you wrote totally conveyed all of the emotions Dean may of been feeling.

This HURT so much. The truth of it all hurt so much. It's like they don't see him. Like he's just a fixture that's supposed to do all these things for them. So quick to complain when he makes a mistake, but never letting him really BE a real person. I just-arghhh-it makes me soo mad. I secretly wish this happened, but instead of going back, I wish he had stayed. He deserves a happy ending. He's like a brilliant light that has been beaten and smothered down to flicker of what it once was, what it could have been. What I wouldn't give to see what Dean would have become if he'd been allowed to flourish. If he'd lived for himself for once. Let them see how it really is without him. Let them fend for themselves.

Wow. Well this made me unbelievably angry. I cannot believe he went back and then apologized to those ingrates. Ugh! He should have stayed at the home; that's the kind of family he truly wanted, anyway. Better than the ones he has here. Just so very, very angry at both Sam and John all throughout this story.

I read this a while ago on livejournal and am still thinking about it. those last lines are brutal!

I wish there was a chapter when John and Sam got worried and found DEAN. If you have time, please do try that! Or maybe, a chapter that elaborates on when Dean got home and how worried John and Sam were. Hehe, sucker for fluff. :P

I love this story... very sad, but incredible!

Loved this story it seems more real and acceptable than any others about supernatural. Dean was completely in character and it showed once again how little he cared for himself but how he put others first. Thanx for finally showing Dean's character the respect it deserves.

Just read this again and find myself wishing there was more. Thanks for sharing it...
