Kate ever cared about Sawyer but she never loved him.
She willingly and often used Sawyer but they didn't work together.
Kate was always in love with Jack...it's Jack the one who Kate really loved and wanted. A love true and real,not ideal but so powerful.

Amazing story, I really enjoyed the parallel you made between the jate/skate triangle and Gone with the Wind, it was so clever and so accurate. For a wild guess at what Kate and Sawyer and season 3 could have been about, you're not that far from the truth, it's pretty believable in a very sad way.

Oh God, this is the ebst fic I've read all day (out of two dozen) - and one of the best I've ever read overall. i lvoe it so much and i hope you write something else like this soon!

I love that you can feel every part of them in this story, and that you can feel the effort you went to as you made them so tied to their emotions. The ending is my favorite part - it's so bittersweetly gorgeous (mostly bitter, but you know); especially the part where Sawyer laughs. It's so...HIM.

The pains of the characters are so evident in this, it blows my mind. Best Skate Angst oneshot I've read. Thanks for the read; it's marvelous.

Rough way for me to begin the morning, but be damned if I could tear myself away. And be damned if I think I'll be leaving this behind any time soon. This is the sort of fic that digs in deep, twining around and through a mind, sending bits and pieces to the surface at odd moments to continue haunting and disquietening.

You have chosen a style and set a rhythm that underlines the story, makes it even more memorable - more disturbing. Although it pained me to read, I'd have to say that is just one more testament as to how well you have done your job here.

This story had an awesome affect.

I honestly felt like I was going mad myself as I read it, because of how well you captured the overall feel of their situation.

So i'm the first, eh? Well, good work. Really liked the nod to Gone with the Wind, it really does capture that jack/kate/sawyer dynamic and i wonder if that's what the writers were thinking. But anyway, great story. Abstract enough to be beautiful and original without losing the reader.
