Even though it was a sad ending, it really worked with the story you had created, especially for Laurette. I can't imagine her having lived to an old age. Great work! |

| Rory4 chapter 38 . 1/3/2009 I read this entire story in only a few hours. I truly fell in love with it from the very first word I read. It was a beautiful story, and I loved Erik and Laurette. This last chapter broke my heart. It was an amazing ending, though. Even though they both passed on, they left a beautiful little girl behind, and so a part of themselves. And what an amazing girl she is, as is her life, which made me smile through my tears. Yeah, I'll admit I shed a few tears while reading this final chapter! As soon as I started reading Erik's letter to Laurette, his 'little angel', the floodgates opened. Big, fat tears. It ruined my makeup, lol, but it was so worth it! I can't even describe how wonderfully bittersweet this ending was. You did a magnificent job writing it! Everything tied together so wonderfully, especially when Erik and Laurette appeared to their daughter on her wedding day. She got to see them - and that they were together - and so did we. It's nice to think that the two are together, and watching over their daughter, always. Oh, man, just thinking about the ending's events is making me tear up again, haha. So heartbreaking, yet so hopeful. This is SO going on my favorites list! Good luck, and I can't wait to read more work from you! -Rory4 |
