Damn Hikaru, you grown up~!
yamina-chan chapter 1 . 8/21/2009
I can understand Hikaru in that case.

He had knowen a ghost and I think that'll help in a situation like this. Also, I think he is right.
Khelek-sul Renai chapter 1 . 4/24/2009
I agree about Hikaru's character and him not telling anyone. He is wise, sometimes... Sai being with him did probably help that.

Well written! Good read.
IDespiseTragedy chapter 1 . 2/17/2009
Very touching.
TheHamsterInMyMind chapter 1 . 4/28/2007

Karaiina chapter 1 . 1/13/2007
actually..i don't understand some of the stories, but i do understand the main story of this fanfic..

uhm,you said,"On that day, Touya Akira lost against Shindo Hikaru in more than just the go game." yup!that's the part that i din't understand,is Hikaru died after playing with Akira? if he is,then why you don't make the scene where Hikaru dead?if you do,and make it very GREAT just like the old man's funeral, maybe i'll cry..

okay then, sorry from my strange review, because i'm not fluent in english, and not too understand your fanfic..

FaveFave~~LuvLuv ur Story~~

osmalic chapter 1 . 6/2/2006
"On that day, Touya Akira lost against Shindo Hikaru in more than just the go game."

And, in the end, I think this sums their relationship perfectly, because despite the personality they show, there's a gap between understanding mortality. I love your depiction on Shindo's reaction to his grandfather's death-I can very clearly see him react that way. But most of all, I love Touya's monologue, his shock at the beginning but understanding at the end, like a bridge crossed. And even though you never mentioned the name "Sai" (and by the way you presented it, Touya never made the connection), I love how he still manages to make his presence known, especially through Hikaru's memories.

Thank you for sharing this. :)
Mor7682 chapter 1 . 6/1/2006
I like this story, it's showing Hikaru's special character, which is what drawns Akira to him eventually. He had lost someone once and can handle the lose of another more easily.

I loved that you chosed to show that Akira knows about Sai. This is the first time I've seen that it's said Hikaru told anyone about Sai, even if it's not mentioned here.

Good story.
Hitokiri-san chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
Great piece, I should say.

Hikaru does have a lot more experience in dealing with loss, huh? And what he says does reflect his earlier resolve in Sai's disappearance: move forward, don't let the past drag you down. Poor Hikaru.

And it is a really angsty piece too.
GreenOnBlack chapter 1 . 5/28/2006
wahh! so sad! Good Job [[sob]]!
Baka Shojo chapter 1 . 5/26/2006
Hikaru is so... mature in a way, besides his childish ways sometimes. He's right that people should move on, but Akira is right, too. People have to properly mourn before actually begin to heal from a loss. Great one-shot, by the way. _
