This is probably my favorite of your pieces thus far, an opinion bolstered by a final line that is painfully simple and yet effervescing with meaning. "Take me with you." It really gives the feeling that the story is about -them-. ...Er, I'm not sure how that works, but you've got it down to a science, I'd say. As always, highly enjoyable.
