Well, it does sound like you had some work cut out for you to recoup what you lost, but seeing as it's been about...5 years or so since you last updated, should I assume it's not going to happen?

I really can't see why this story is so dead to you... so many people have read this story and are probably waiting for any sign of it to appear again. I know I will be... many people try so hard to get this far, would you at least consider writing bits of it between things, and try to keep it going? It has one of the best story plots I've read and even the character developement is great compared to others. It takes forever to find these stories now-a-days, and I think i speak for everyone when I say we would like to see at least a little bit of updates.

You really don't have to, I guess, but I'd like to read more.

Its too bad you decided not to continue this story as its one of the best on FFnet. I find it strange that you decided to stop writing it because it didnt match canon, as while you were writing it you had to know that odds were good it wouldnt match canon. Either way, i'm glad you wrote what you did, and hopefully will finish it some day.

at this point I'm basically wondering when they are going to stop fighting each other and start fighting the bad guys.

The story could use more actual plot development

What happened to Iruka? What's going on inside of Konoha? How are the civilians of Konoha taking the new military dictatorship?

Where the heck is Shizune and what is she up to?

What position did the Fire Daimyo and the Tsuchikage(sp?) take on the change of government? Did Gaara tell the Suna Daimyo where to stick it?

How are the genin doing? We've heard nothing from Konohamaru and his friends.

How exactly are the shinobi hiding out in the cave in the middle of Fire country surviving? It's pretty difficult to keep 200 people well fed out in the wilderness while under attack.

They would need medical supplies as well. I'm sure they didn't have time to pack toiletries and clothing or blankets when they ran. How are they doing as far as weapons supplies go?

Where do they use the toilet? Is there a designated cave for taking a dump? What about bathing? Do they stink from months of cave living with no running water? That would make them extremely easy to sniff out. Where are they getting their drinking water by the way. 200 shinobi can consume a lot of water.

Ah, so many unanswered questions
