I like the fact that you are very detailed in your writing. The vocabulary you use is also appealing, though you sometimes contradict yourself. I don't think you should use a word such as "faded" to descibe a smile going to an "arrogant grin". "Faded" usually implies that something disappears, though you're merely changing it to something worse. Your sentences in the first paragraph are also a bit off on punctuation. Anyway, i tell you this only because i think you're a really good writer and deserve to know that. Can't wait to read the rest!
