Statistically speaking, using two pistols at the same time is vastly inferior to using one, as anyone who has used a pistol should know. It's just not possible to properly aim two at a time, especially when to aim only one requires aligning three points, a complex task for the human brain.

Not sure why you'd straight-up drink water from an alien planet. That's almost certainly a death sentence, if not due to alien bacteria and the like (against which they would have no resistance) then due to chemicals in the water. Distilling it would be best but filtering and boiling could suffice.

Also, Jimmy should know better. There's no logical reason to presume anything must serve some function for life in order for it to be present on a planet.

Well, first off that's sloppy firearms training. 1) Treat the gun as if it is always ready to fire. 2) Only point the gun at something you're willing to destroy, and know what's behind it. 3) Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.

Secondly, I don't really think that's good "manly" advice.

If they've entered puberty Jimmy should have already surpassed Cindy in strength by quite a lot. Then again, he might not have hit that growth spurt yet. Also, if he's going searching he really should take someone else. Going out alone is never a good idea.

I don't think much needs to be said about video games being much in the way of training for real life, so instead I'll just note that Glocks do not have manual safeties. That said, that it was mentioned was good; it's a detail most would miss.
