| Sandshrew777 chapter 1 . 4/1/2008 I like this idea of tackling pre-Narnia brotherhood. Edmund is appropriately characterized, with some beautiful moments in the beginning and ending. I would have liked to see him be a little more petulant with the George Sanderson bit, and that needs to happen in the body language. You try it with 'bursts', but that's not enough. Really let him go off. (You achieve this later with the "Don't call me Eddy!" line, which I love, but you need to back it up here. It's close, but not quite there yet!) I love Peter's older brother syndrome. He's scared, too, though he won't entirely admit it to himself. He does admit it to Edmund, though...and I would have liked a little more hesitation before that admission. For Peter to admit that he's scared takes a bit, I think, and so I would have liked him to mull it over in his head there before he came out and revealed it. Even a second or two of hesitation would be appropriate. ;) That will eradicate the "Peter is strong, strong, strong!" image we get here slightly, and you need that. He doesn't have a flaw in this one-shot, which is important, and I think that hesitation will give Peter a weakness. We like weaknesses. :) The opening action is beautiful. I love the dialogue all around, and although Mr. Pevensie is a throwaway character here, he makes a smart cameo. His purpose is correctly introduced. Thanks for a fun, cute read. ;) Excellent work!
