Reviews for The Lantern
Nightaz01 chapter 1 . 7/2/2012
I love this story.
Anonymous chapter 1 . 4/4/2010
I can't believe this is your FIRST! That was great! I don't know how you came up with that, I would never have thought of the Lamp Post having a mind, but in Narnia, anything can happen, right?
snowstargirl chapter 1 . 12/6/2009
Wow! That was really, really interesting! What a great idea. I'd never really considered what happened to the lamp-post... I loved when it got its new body and when it realized it was forgiven. Great job.
Reep chapter 1 . 12/6/2009

Aravir Theophila Morningstar chapter 1 . 11/7/2009
Oh, so beautiful. I have never read a fic written from the Lamppost's perspective. Truly original. I especially like the fact that you thought of it as being alive. While reading "The Lantern" I my mind remembered a line from MN where Digory says, "And it's [the lamppost] alive too! It's lit!".

By the Lion's grace,

BellazWorld chapter 1 . 5/21/2008
Wow. I love the way tou write, it's just so... wonderful. I could almost feel the emotions along with the Lantern...

YOU HAVE TALENT!
Sissy chapter 1 . 9/23/2007
This is a beautifully written story from a very unique perspective. You stayed true to the "feel" of Narnia and yet, added a new twist that even Lewis didn't consider. Good job.
Inactive1357 chapter 1 . 9/1/2007
This is amazing! Excellent excellent! I literally got the chills when I read this. Beautiful work.

"Waiting for something, for anything, for nothing to happen." - I love this line. I love the way you portray the utter despair of the poor lantern - so deep that it couldn't even believe that Aslan would come.

"“It is not I who judged you unworthy,” he says, “but you who assumed that yourself.”" - wow. So true.

"“Why, of course I have,” He chuckles. “Did you expect any less?”" - one of my favorite lines. This piece is full of beauty and truth - the best combination. Thank you so much for writing this!
E. C. Peters chapter 1 . 8/30/2007
*applauds*

brilliant!
Glor chapter 1 . 2/19/2007
Interesting. Although the lamp-post did grow on the First Day, I've never considered it "alive" of any sort and simply assumed it was destroyed with the rest of Narnia after the Last Battle (or even some time before).

I actually thought that if the Lamp-post remembered being planted by the Witch, it would probably consider itself guilty of "aiding" her attack on Aslan on the First Day... And Aslan would certainly come back if there was a single being who believed in Him!

I wonder how did the Lamp-post look after being animated by Aslan. Some sort of iron Dryad perhaps? :)
Echo the Insane chapter 1 . 10/4/2006
This is so original. The lamppost! Amazingly well done, very nice indeed.
