...*chokes* wow on all that author-prescience here. (The Old Man 'Zangetsu' sequence, the angel imagery, the 'Ichigo and the Hollow are actually kinda the same person' bit... such on-point dream-weirdness - which pretty much explains why this has so many parallels to later canon, haha.)

Oh my, I don't know how I missed this when I first got into Bleach, but I'm glad to read it now. Beautifully written as always and possibly prophetic, as well. Knowing what we know now about Ichigo, Hollow/Zangetsu and Yhwach/Zangetsu, I wonder if Ishida will end up destroying one of them? Will he kill Yhwach himself or something inside of Ichigo? And look, it's been nearly 10 years and we're still waiting for Ishida to become that avenging angel, but still certain that it will happen. If he does take vengeance, though, I hope it's for his mother and Ichigo's, and for the Quincy honor that Yhwach and the Sternritter seem to have perverted.

Most fics get jossed by canon eventually, but this one holds up remarkably well, and I'm sure it's because you've always been sensitive to the recurring themes in Bleach. It might be time to go through all your older stories and see what else you might have predicted, no?

Wow. This story is quite as confusing as any real dream I've ever had, and there are so many interesting things in it that I don't know which one to comment on first. No, wait, I do! I really, really like how you describe Hollow Ichigo (OR IS IT REALLY HIM?), from his "high delighted voice" to basically all of his dialogue with Ishida... I think you've captured that 'ruthless maniac with a cheerful sense of humour' thing very well.

Other sweet stuff: Ichigo thinking about the reality of dreams, Urahara's tea metaphor, Ishida's dramatic pronouncements, and old man Zangetsu as the Ghost (if intended).

(This whole story does foreshadowing for the current manga arc so nicely it makes me smile...)
