Wow. Just... wow. You blended the two series together so perfectly. An absolutely amazing job. I loved the way you worked through Lupin's character and explained what he was doing during those years and dealt with his pain without resorting to cliche or overdramatisation, and I loved how smoothly you showed Hokuto's serious side. The melding of their personalities in this is so fantastic. My hat, it is tipped to you.

On a side note from scanning the reviews - I liked that you mentioned the dark Japanese skin. Most people don't realise that the Japanese go extremely dark in the sun and go to extremes to keep their skin 'fashionably' pale. Clearly that reviewer is a bit... misinformed, let's say.

A excellent combination. I didn't think it was possible to mix these two completely different series so well. But I kind of wish Subaru was in here somewhere.

I loved the detail you included, comparing the two cultures and their form of "magic."

The realism and depth you added to each of the two characters really brought them out, their thoughts, their feelings.

Nothing in this oneshot was cliched, from Lupin's suspicions of Hokuto (hooker, lol) to the way that they both had special people that meant the world to them.

Before reading this I would have never thought of that connection between Subaru and James Potter.

terrorofthehighway: Have YOU ever been to Japan? Most Japanese people are not naturally fair-skinned, especially not when compared to northern Europeans. If they were, skin bleaching wouldn't be the trillion-yen industry that it is. And I wouldn't have to import my foundation from the US.

Dude, Japanese are naturally fair skinned. Pale, even. Especially when compared to other Asian races. Dark haired, yes. Unless they dye or tan their hair.

Once again, you amaze me by writing a crossover and making things fit so well that you wouldn't notice the two series weren't really that similar in the first place. This one was particularly good. :)

I wouldn’t have though a crossover with these two series would work, but you sure proved me wrong. I loved it, you should write more with these worlds. I was especially intrigued by the contrast between the western and eastern magic communities.
