Even in 2019 I'm enjoying this story- goes to show how timeless writing can be.
What I really admire about this particular fanfiction, is the exploration of the main characters. I've appreciated the Sokka and Zuko friendship, but this prison situation had a lot of development scenes- and I think it's an achievement of yours to make an OC so useful to the plot without giving her, well- much screen time until the very end. That's skill, in my eyes at least.
Most of all- I love the banter. The quips, the teasing and the sometimes awkward situations. I like the implications with Ling-Ling, without it ever being mature. And yet, the fact that you made Sokka and Zuko still act like _boys_ is another wonder to me, sure they are characters, but I enjoyed the bits where flecks reality was mentioned. Like the Water Tribes weaponry, or the tell-tales of puberty and their inner thoughts between both.

I think it's nice for you to know, that this is a story that is a straight read-through, that is, flicking through chapter after chapter because the story flows so well. Thank you, for creating this.

Chapter Two only, and I'm very much enjoying the interaction, I think you captured both their personalities well- and Sokka still has me laughing out loud. Thanks for writing and completing this story!

I love the interaction between the two, it seems like very little happens but so much at the same time and there is such amazing character development between the two.
I also loved seeing the word "Canny" appear in this fic, think its the first time i've seen it :D

Wow! I stumbled across the sequel, and thought I should read the first before I settled down and read that. I'm really glad I did; I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the rich vocabulary, the proper grammar, the way Sokka was fleshed out, the plot... I really don't have any complaints at all. Sokka and Zuko is probably my favorite character pairing to read about (not romantically though, just to clarify). I love stories where their relationship is explored.

This is an interesting story. Ling-Ling, particularly, was a very strange and dark character. I like how Sokka and Zuko interacted and slowly learned a sort of pragmatic almost-trust between them.
