What a truly wonderful story! I wish there was more but I can accept why you ended it there. Your characters were so rich and interactive. I usually dont read First Person stories (this is only the 2nd Ive made it through and I read A LOT) and this only could have worked in this format. I just have to say:

Life is hard, but it seems that poor Ed has resolved to carry the burden for the rest of the world. I'm glad Roy manages to surprise him from time to time, with no mental stimulation he would only get older.

This is the ONLY story written in first-person Ed that I have ever been able to enjoy. Most of the time I stop reading them after a few paragraphs because the narration seems totally unlike Ed. But your story had me totally convinced. I loved the characterizations of Roy and Ed as well. Really well done! Thanks for writing!

I'm quite impressed by the things left unsaid throughout this fic. The simple way Ed talks about the horrors he has encountered and the thought-process that clearly displays he is more than disturbed. He is human, just human, and he knows it. But having such great sins of his own, it must be a battle to decide what kind of person he is, for his own peace of mind.

Great story and well written. I really wished that this kept going and delved a little bit more into the horrors behind the scenes.

Ah! I loved your story. Writing from that perspective can be challenging, but I think you did a great job! My only "complaint" is that I want more! :)
