Man once i got to the 7th chapter i was like fuck there is no way this story is finished...but i kept reading anyways. It's honestly such a shame that for whatever reason the author hasn't updated. This story was so raw and to be blunt depressing, it really draws a reader in. I can't imagine how Naruto and Sasuke's development could have gone or how this whole fic could have ended but wow, i bet it would have been awsome. I hope by a miracle the author logs in or finishes this story in the future, so much potentiol and unaswered questions!

It's unfortunate that this story never got finished as I really liked this Naruto and Sasuke and all the tension they had between them. I also liked that this was a band story that didn't spam emo/goth/Jrock/punk music. (Truthfully, I could never see any of the Naruto characters in a Visual Kei band. :P)

In my opinion, the best parts of the story was when Naruto and Sasuke were alone together. They had so much chemistry and rapport. Sasuke was an asshole, but not in all the usual, obnoxious, played-out "dobe"/"teme" sorts of ways. And Naruto was determined but not obnoxious, inexperienced, but not girly. They argued and occasionally rubbed each other the wrong way, but not in a forced, there must be arguing between these two characters!, sort of way. And what was more, they seemed legitimately drawn to one another because of their mutual love for music. I could believe that despite their differences in personality, they'd still want to be friends and would still become attached to one another. It wasn't some cheap, he's a jerk but he's SO HOT, type of attraction.

The one thing I didn't like about the story was the actual formation of the band. It was fine that Naruto and Sasuke met because Sasuke was the new kid and they both just so happened to be really musically talented, but repeating the exact same scenario with Gaara was too much. How great that two musical geniuses should happen to transfer into Naruto's school and become his friend within days of each other... Similarly, Naruto somehow *knew* that both guys were super-talented, which was bizarre. Just because Sasuke happened to have a guitar didn't mean he could play it, or even play it well. Same with Gaara, just because he happened to look like Sid Vicious didn't mean he was actually a good bassist. (In fact, the opposite should have been true since Sid Vicious was so bad the Sex Pistols would unplug his bass during live shows.)

In my personal opinion, the story would have been more enjoyable if it had stuck to Naruto and Sasuke alone and not started adding other band members. Naruto and Sasuke could have been like the White Stripes or the Black Keys, bands with just a drummer and a guitar player. Gaara and Shikamaru could have been normal friends from school instead of band mates.

I think there was SO MUCH the story could have done with Naruto and Sasuke alone (even just Sasuke by himself since he seemed to have a really complicated backstory) that I don't think the fic needed the added drama of personality conflicts between Sasuke and Gaara, etc. I think introducing Gaara took away from Naruto and Sasuke somewhat. The fic had to spend so much time on introducing Gaara and on establishing his animosity with Sasuke (chapter 7 was pretty much all about Sasuke and Gaara's mutual dislike), that it didn't get the chance to follow up on some of the conflicts between Naruto and Sasuke the story introduced. For example, both of them had been intentionally hiding away their musical talent (Sasuke much more than Naruto) that it surprised me they got the ball rolling on the band so easily. It was always Naruto's goal to start a band, so I could understand him getting over his fear of performing in public more easily than Sasuke, but Sasuke was REALLY paranoid about his guitar-playing. He had the guitar hid in the closet and pretty much attacked Naruto so he wouldn't find out it was there and find out he could play. And then when he did finally play for Naruto, he did it behind closed doors. How do you go from that to agreeing to join a band? His parents didn't even want him to have the guitar in the first place. There should have been a little more second-guessing from the both of them before they got to the point where they were auditioning other band members.

I hope you get back to this some day, but even if you don't, thanks so much for having written and published 8 chapters of this for us to enjoy. :)

I've found myself going back and going back to this story over the years. Your prose is delicious, melodic. You have awesome taste in music and truly I love this story. I don't even know if you still log in, or write fics, but if you do... You simply MUST update. For the sake of a reader who keeps coming back again and again.
