Very good portrayal of Karla! I like the connection she has to Jaenelle and how they are both being left behind by their friends, in a sense. She doesn't show the insecurities much in the books, but I think both the memory and the wish to record it is something she might do.

This is absolutely beautiful. It's a great insight into their friendship, and you have both girls' characterizations right on.

I'd like your permission to use the idea about not watching people cry in one of my own stories.

Favorite lines:

" 'I want to be everything to somebody.', I mean, this is ridiculous. Somebody and Anybody aren't going to keep me warm at night. I can't even think about theoretical sex with a real, live person."

I feel exactly like that sometimes.

"Not that I'm not always making dirty jokes, but that's because somebody has to"

That's just classic Karla.

I can totally imagine that. That could be a whole fic in itself.

Please write more. This is really good writing, and there's not enough Karla fic out there.

Very nicely done! It is nice to see Karla less than in control. We know these moments had to have happened...but it is nice to read one. Growing up ain't easy..even with Craft.

Very nice indeed - you captured their voices perfectly, and it's always nice to see those two doing something girly for a change. *grin*

DAMN, that was good! You absolutely nailed Karla's voice...dead-on accurate for both the funny one-liners and the "oh, never thought of that" creepy bits. I hadn't noticed till reading this that Karla's the only member of the coven (that we know of) who can relate on any to Jaenelle and her icky childhood.

Favorite lines:

" I'm just used to being in charge of any room Jaenelle isn't in" and "We were both kind of odd as children, so their lives were always these far-fetched, operatic affairs, and their troubles were always exquisitely gory (I pulled out my mother's anatomy books a few times)." Absolutely great!

Fantastic insight into Karla, very well written and true to the characters- which is possibly the most important thing in these books! Enjoyable and thought provoking (or Karla opinion revising)!

That was a very good take on Karla's emotions. I enjoyed it.

The emphasis on crying was insightful (god I sound like a teacher!)lol but it was and powerful. The whole thing is very quietly important...
