| Axcel chapter 4 . 7/3/2014 Why do so many authors write digits instead of numbers? Like putting "2 weeks" instead of "two weeks"? Doesn't anyone bother learning grammar and structure before writing? You use digits only with lists and dates (i.e. 1. laundry 2. school, etc. or June 21st, etc.). Otherwise, spell it out (i.e. two weeks, fourteen days). Also, it is grammatically incorrect to put "and" in a number when spelling it. For example, it is not "two hundred and forty eight", it is "two hundred forty eight". You DO use "and" when spelling out fractions. For example "nine and one half". |
