Actually, as far as I know, the Prince's (note: Mercutio is related to the Prince) family and the Capulets had no hate for one another. It was just the Capulets and the Montagues who were having the quarrel. The Prince was there to try and reprimand both families when their fights got out of hand. So, there really is no feud between the Prince's family and the Capulets.

Still, nice story. You just can't say that their relationship is forbidden in the sense that their families hated each other because it wouldn't make any sense.

Ok I know that I have reviewed the chapter once, but this re-done version is really great. The only little problem is that Mercutio is not one Montague, but the prince1s cousin, but this can be ignored, the chap was still great

"Tybalt sighed. Why did this always have to happen?" lol, his frustration is exploding in all directions there. I can almost see Tybalt smacking his hand on his head XD

“He's not your man. Alright, walk out into a field, and he'll chase you. In that sense you can call him your ‘man’.” That line is hilarious: it gave me the weird image of it actually happening XD

*cheers* Yay Romeo and Juliet slash. Good beginning. One slight thing, though- the reason Mercutio is offended and thinks Tybalt is calling Romeo and himself musicians is because of the word "consort", which applied specifically to musicians. So if you changed that back (I presume in NFS they changed it to "hang out"... NFS doens't make very much sense and loses quite a bit of the play on language) it would make more sense.

Interesting concept... You do know that Mercutio isn't a Montague, right? It states in Romeo and Juliet (in passing, it's not especially obvious) that Mercutio is a relative of the Prince and Paris.
