Man, I was looking through your stories and came upon one where it referenced Shaggy as a Dog Handler. It completely fucked me up. As an Iraq/Afghan Vet, the concept of MWD is very familiar, and as someone who grew up in the 70s living on Scooby and Shaggy with a family on Nam Vets, this drove home. Man, when I tell this is an incredible concept I am being completely a possibility that Shaggy really is based on a Vietnam Vet who came home just like this.

Interesting take on this character. Although, Shaggy is actually braver than he looks-poor guy sells himself too short, hahaha! He's always there for his friends and even if he acts so scared, he's always there to save the day. If he was truly frightened, he would have left Mystery Inc. a long time ago.
