Great story but the only issue I had was how weak and untrained you made like look, he trained for years and was trained by two of the greatest Jedi masters ever in Yoda and Obi wan and was able to beat Darth Vadercin light saber combat and that was when Vader was at his peak in power.

I looked up a simple time-travel fic regarding the Star Wars Original trilogy and THIS FIC was the first one I picked!

It’s 3:22 fucking AM and that’s because I wasn’t able to put this fic down! Seriously!

Alright. Biggest and most emotionally-driven part of the rant now done and over with.

You are one of the greatest storytellers I’ve had the fortune to stumble across on this site. Yes, it’s been almost 13 years since you last touched this story, but I’m leaving a long review anyway because I want the cathartic experience. It’s a bit like putting the lid on something, in a sense. Closing the book.

I call you one of the greatest storytellers not because of the plot, not because of your writing style and certainly not because of the themes you put into it, although they were all certainly beautiful. I call you that because you stuck it out. You finished this monster of a fic despite a hectic life and all in your spare time!

Let’s get to plot and writing style. For the first third I was enthralled - I couldn’t stop reading because of your beautiful writing style that shone throughout you characterisation of Luke, Leila and Anakin. I could practically feel their excitement and trepidation!

Please keep in mind that I read this roller coaster of a fic in one sitting.

The second third (not even a third, just right up until the last 3 chapters, is where a lot of things went awry.

You managed to make this story so gripping that I have a hunch it won’t be something I’ll ever be able to bring myself to re-read. I’ll try to elaborate

This fanfic is undoubtedly one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. I can think of just 2 other fics that had me stay up this late desperately reading. But I won’t be able to ever read them again.

The only way I can describe it is that it’s so emotionally dense and stressing. I felt like tearing my hair out and crying at times due to Luke and Leia’s stupid decisions - which is normal, but when followed by the ending?

This will be one of the very few stories that everyone reads that will always linger at the back of their minds. It’s beautiful, alright, and hauntingly so.

Well done. I know this feels a lot like me criticising you, but I can assure you of quite the opposite.
Yes, if I had any control of this story I would’ve made it considerably less emotionally-wrecking; perhaps by allowing Anakin to eventually be told the truth about Luke and Leia and avoiding the devastating fallout from not knowing earlier, but that wouldn’t have made this fic the lingering kind. Yes, it would still have been memorable and tear-jerking... but nothing that stays.

I guess what I’ve been trying to get at is... the reason why your story simultaneously lingering haunting yet beautiful is the ending. It’s bittersweet. It’s not perfect - the people we wish had happy endings don’t get them in the way we hope and expect. And there’s always a question of “What if...?”

I guess this is why I wrote the possibly longest-ever review, a review I’ve left for the first time in over a year on this site. I’m glad to say that my hopes in finding this activity cathartic were realised - writing this has lifted some of the emotional stress from reading this all in one sitting while sleep deprived. I hope, that if you somehow do see this against all odds, that you weren’t too offended by this all (especially the beginning)

Blood does not make you family! I find this insulting! Saying Breha and Bail were not her real parents just pissed me off. I'm guessing your not into adoption since your insinuating blood is more important. The parents are the people who raised you, know you.

Wonderful story! I couldn't stop crying while reading the epilogue it was so heartbreakingly sad and beautiful.

How can you make us sob for ANOTHER 30 min?
