Samuela chapter 1 . 8/16/2010 McCormick’s got this amazing ability to adjust to new, sometimes unpredictable, often dangerous situations almost at once. That’s how he managed to escape relatively unscathed from his first meeting with Zora and May, with the added bonus of getting a kick out of seeing Hardcastle growing nervous on account of a phone call from two old ladies. You painted that to perfection, but that’s nothing new. My favorite lines: "Oh, my-he's gone and got another one", and "I told them I clean the pool. They figured the rest out for themselves", they're truly spot-on and say a lot about the characters. No news here either. Oh, and McCromick defininig himself as ‘strictly amateur’ in the field of criminal investigation-LOL. Yet another piece to add to my favorites and, as always, thanks for writing and sharing! |
JeanneZ84 chapter 1 . 5/19/2007 I have read this before I enjoy it everytime. Keep up the good work. JeanneZ84 |
lynw21 chapter 1 . 3/16/2006 Mark spent his time in Q reading, good point I really enjoyed that he was very honest with the Aunts even over the phone |
Wenj chapter 1 . 3/9/2006 Aunty Zora and Aunty May...what a hoot! I chuckled all the way through this...thank you, it was great |
cheride chapter 1 . 3/7/2006 Well, what can I say? This is just wonderful. Very nicely touches on some of the gamesmanship between the guys as they were feeling their way early in the relationship, and then lets McC's simple honesty shine through when the judge isn't around to see. The Aunts were great, and managed to be precisely Auntish, even over the phone. Two things that I especially loved: "people of the Hardcastle persuasion". Hah. That says a lot right there. And, the idea of MCH as a "scamp". I'm with Mark on that one; hard to put those things together, but it's sure kind of fun to try. Thanks for the grins. |
Kariesue chapter 1 . 3/7/2006 This was great! I could tell it was May and Zora just by the way they spoke the first sentence. I could hear every word coming from them. And "scamp", who in their right mind but May and Zora would think to call Hardcastle a "scamp"? The perfect little bedtime story to make me forget all the worries of the day and put me in a good mood before retiring for the night. Thank, as always. |
Lizabeth S. Tucker chapter 1 . 3/7/2006 Oh, the pain, the pain. I've been laughing so hard at the imagery conveyed in this story that I believe I may have pulled a muscle. This is the best "first time" for Mark and the aunts that I could've imagined. Makes me wonder if I should just abandon my version, still unborn. More please. |
firefly chapter 1 . 3/7/2006 This story was so cute. I only wish it was much longer. I hope you'll write a sequel! I think I'll go back and read it again, right now! Ann |
sbishoff chapter 1 . 3/7/2006 This was great. I loved the questions that Zora asked and that Mark answered her honestly, even if it would lead to distrust. I really enjoyed the story. The inly thing we need now is to see the visit. Is that next? Please! |
Tharin chapter 1 . 3/7/2006 What a wonderful story. I started to laugh at "Oh, my, he’s gone and got another one. What’s your name, dear?", and couldn't stop for the rest of the story. I just love the aunts, and this is a great idea for Mark's first "meeting" with them. |
owlcroft chapter 1 . 3/7/2006 Okay, here's my honest review - there's not one thing you could've done to improve this story. So there. The truth hurts, doesn't it? But it's for your own good. Honestly, this is a perfect little view of each of the characters involved and everyone is portrayed exactly and definitively. You want my favorite moment? It's when McCormick hides the dust rag. Now _that's_ knowing your character! |
