That was an amazing chapter.
The tension you developed in the beginning and middle, and then the breath held, gut clenching suspense at the end when Stephanie, single handed, saves 4 lives, was spectacular.
It's like you can almost feel time slowing from the adrenaline rush as Steph just *acts*.
Brilliant. Just brilliant.

Excellent story... loved all parts but esp the tatoo and distraction job, Ranger in a cut off shirt! Yummm. The shootout, and the final days with Ranger. All well written. Thank you.

See, now that is how Joe should behave - concerned without being pushy - and making the memorial stone for Rex is the perfect touch, just like a rose bush from Ranger was perfect.

We made memorial stones for all the graves of our pets when we were growing up. Lets see - 3 cats, a budgie, 2 fish and a painted turtle. We have a small pet cemetery here on the farm also. 25 years can turn into a lot of pets for the two of us and the 6 goddaughters. Though I am certain that the ram would puzzle future archeologists. [he was my prize rambouillet ram Rhambeau. My goddaughter Amber was responsible for that name ) ]

I've been reading a lot of your work and really enjoying it. You have a nice way of developing a story and doing justice to the JE characters. Although I am a total "Babe" I don't really like stories that paint Morelli as a lousy guy. Glad you didn't do that. Guess we'll see how this whole "agreement" thing plays out. I'm off to read part 2!
