Arceus327 chapter 1 . 7/6/2015
I like this!
sciguy007 chapter 28 . 4/10/2013
I like your characters. They act in believable, if not entirely logical ways. Marc is strangely homicidal from the beginning of the story, which is never really explained or explored, but he isn't so crazy that it's really worth questioning. A good knowledge of the line between believable and outrageous is a sign of a good writer.
Despite how believable the characters are, I don't know a lot about them. I know their age, their gender, their name, a little bit about how they looked as a human, their pokémon species, and the characters that they have ties to, but that's really it. Despite how much information is in this story, nothing goes too far into why or how things are that way. There's no in depth explanation of why the legendaries would turn into hideous monsters for looking into the future, other than that it somehow exemplifies the power of the shadow.
As it is, this is one of the best fan-fictions I have read. The ending really bothers me though. Unless I'm being inadvertently very insensitive and this really all actually happened (which would amaze and bewilder me to no end), this ending seems very much like a cop out. It's a complete ending even if Jade just gets into the car and has a fleeting thought about mortality or something. That's not a very good ending, but the way I see it, better than the main character sitting down to write the story that I just read. I was deeply entrenched in this emotional world you had created, and then it was ruined. It was more disappointing to me than if the ending had just never come, to be brutally honest.
Since you started this story almost seven years ago and finished it almost six years ago, I would suggest rewriting it. Styles change as writers become better, and if this story is important to you (and you are like most writers I've known) you will find a great enjoyment in making it even better. Seeing your profile makes me a bit sad, knowing that you'd abandon a story before it is the best it could ever possibly be. C'est la vie, I suppose.
As for moving on to non fan-fiction stories... what I understand from reading this story is that your imagination isn't/wasn't really suffering. It takes more imagination to make unoriginal characters/universes/things seem imaginative than just making things up. I find it to be a better stretch of my mind than writing new things.
To finish this review with something positive (and relevant to the story), I love Meeko. He makes decisions that he gives reasons for, he has good reasons, he is a good person, and he is conflicted by his decisions, which later affects his other decisions. He acts like a person, which is just how people should act. You never directly state why he does things, either, you just make sure the reader knows by what Meeko is thinking. His slight indecision towards releasing his pokémon makes him even a little better.
Of course, I'm just one guy reading this six years after you think it's done, sending you some review out of eighty-three you have previously received. I hope you listen to me, and I'd like to think I have some relevance outside of my own thoughts, but it really is your choice what you do. At the very least I hope you use my opinion to make your future stories better in some way.
Beyogi chapter 1 . 10/22/2012
What the fuck, tatooing a pokemon on their hands. That's something they most likely will regret for the rest of their lives. Anyway, the pokemon seem to be kinda arrogant.

Thank you for writing this interesting story.
Raichu chapter 7 . 7/28/2012
you're plot in this chapter is excellent

unfortunately i think it might have been a bit too much of a challenge for you, and bits of it weren't well written. probably might have helped if you got a beta to help you.
Raichu chapter 6 . 7/28/2012
interesting character development.

switching from 1st person to 3rd person again doesn't really work. you need either to consistently narrate from 1st person, or to stick to 3rd person throughout.
Raichu chapter 4 . 7/28/2012
I like how you describe what it's like to be a Pokémon, and what a Poké ball would seem like when it's trying to catch you.
Black Charizard chapter 28 . 3/20/2012
this story was great, totally different from the shows and manga, love how serious you made everything
Zelphiteen chapter 28 . 6/6/2011

Teraunce chapter 28 . 10/24/2008
/me cries. This story is very poignant and even has a few moments of Cartharsis. This story and you are getting faved. Im gonna break my 0-10 rating scale and giving you a 100/10. It ended at the right moment and it had the right plot twists to make it a truly enjoyable story. Interesting how you use the last few paragraphs to explain why this is written in 1st person. It's not as long (chapter-wise) as most fanfics i read, but it more than makes up for it in chapter length and plot development. Ok, I'll shut up since all I'm doing is repeating the same things over and over again.
pikachuhunter1 chapter 28 . 7/2/2008
I read this in like January or something when I didn't have username, but now I've been here writing stories for close to five months! I don't know what took me so long to review, but anyway I loved the story! It was so well thought out, I have to say, it partially inspired me to write Periwinkle, but I loved the fic. All the action and they finally get out, but one of their friends died. Sad, so sad. You're a good writer, write more please!

Pika!
Serpent Magick chapter 28 . 8/10/2007
Wow, what an interesting ending! I know I stopped reading for the longest time (I was supposed to be writing...) but I decided it would be fun to finish reading now that it's finished.

Overall, this is one of the most interesting stories I've ever read. The way you made the characters so delectably /human/ was very nice. Meeko was a very interesting character, indeed. I especially loved how you made Marc at the end.

I shall look forward to any works you post in the future; keep up the good work!
