I love the simplicity, and yet many layers, of this piece. Very excellent! I love the line about Alfeegi making Ruwalk feel young.

I do wonder, though, how old Tetheus is-I seem to remember him mentioning being around when the last King fell, but I can't remember if it was Dusis' or Arinas'-either way, makes him way old when you count him years living as a demon. But, of course, Ruwalk isn't that close to him, so he doesn't spend enough time around him to feel old or young.

Also, I think it interesting that you did not include the Red Officer. When Nadil first shows up in Dusis, the other officers speak of the Red Officer, being their Leader, and also not being there. I did not get the impression that he was quite dead at that point or that there wasn't one, just that he was not in the castle at the point in time when Lykouleon snuck out to confront Nadil.

One possibility that I thought of was that the Red Officer died in the confrontation between the Demon that took Illuser's form and the army and officers from Draqueen. And maybe that was when 'Rath' absorbed the Red Dragon(?) Ball-hell, absorbing that ball along with the officer could have been what allowed Lykouleon to change the demon to a dragon form. Just an idea-it just came to me so I had to write it.

*squee* Delicious and satisfying! 5/5 stars! I'm always amazed at the depths fanfiction authors go to on the relationship of these two (or with Kai-Stern. Mostly with 'Feegi in general) and have to say that I enjoy your interpretation immensly! Keep it up!

All that's really coming to mind is variations on squee, however I shall attempt to elaborate a bit more. *g* Thank you for writing this for me, and never mind that it wasn't in time for Christmas - it came at a time when I was feeling a bit low about everything, and having something gorgeous like this to read really cheered me up. _

As soon as I'd finished it, I went back and read it again, because there are a lot of perfect little details in here. I love reading about Alfeegi's background, since he really doesn't have much of one in canon, and you make it work so plausibly. Also, your Ruwalk is teh awesome and you should never worry about not writing him well because he's so warm and sweet and *Ruwalk-y* that I am a puddle on the floor. Of course, it's not just him - I loved all the insight you gave about the relationships between the Dragon Officers - but my mind, she has only one track. ;) I loved the development of Alfeegi and Ruwalk's relationship and the ending is so perfectly satisfying; in my little dream world, that would have been *exactly* how it would have happened in canon. :p In short, it's a beautiful answer for my request.

I loved to read this, and I hope you won't take offense when I confess that I especially loved the bits and pieces about Kai-stern. Apart from those though, this was an intrigueing, fascinating and captivating look into the history of the Dragon Officers and their relationships with Lord Lykouleon. Compared to what was mentioned in the summary, this was a delightful epic, spanning a much longer period and wider range of subjects than I'd dared hope for. -

Argh, I feel sour little by little when I realized I almost reach the bottom of the story! And the story already has completed status! T_T I still want to read more. I mean how about Ruwalk's realizationship with Alfeegi after that? Would he ever find out about Themas? Would Alfeegi has a guilty feeling for loving another? Oh well, good story really. I always want to read the beginning of Dragon Knight's story. About how they first joint the tribe. I love the past that they had in your story. I think I would keep this story as really the beginning of Dragon Knight's story.
