Reviews for Four Ways to Lose my Soul
Blue Shadowdancer chapter 1 . 5/13/2009
Amazing. I loved the technique you used, with so many new layers to each 'chance' that Sheppard had, making them different enough to fully read each one. And incredibly dark, which I love too *g*

I wasn't certain that you would actually have a happy ending, but I'm really glad you did, especially after all the other alternative outcomes!
stargate addict chapter 1 . 3/3/2007
Amazing... I was really worried at the ending there. :) Really, really well written- I found # IV. the most shocking, cuz I really wasn't expecting Shep to kill the little girl. (It's nice know I wasn't the only person who thought she was a little boy at first. _ I kinda figured it out when I read the line about the ponies... took me long enough, huh? :D)

Of course, I was relieved when I read the last one, when all of them survived. :)
Leesa Perrie chapter 1 . 9/6/2006
Excellently written - the way it builds up - the different ways it ends - and then the relief of the last ending. Very well done.
nwfairy chapter 1 . 8/29/2006
Is it like a 'Window of Opptunity'?

*confused*
Sholio chapter 1 . 4/25/2006
Very impressed - from a writing standpoint, I am impressed by the way that each story builds on what has come before, without ever seeming over-written or dull, leading to a different outcome until finally one has an acceptable ending. Loved it! A very nice, very creative take on the "five things" meme that I haven't seen done before.
Tazmy chapter 1 . 4/13/2006
Wow. This was a piece of art. I'm so glad you mentioned this fic because I really do love it. It's got a lot of depth and emotion. The descriptions are beautiful. I love how we see things piece by piece as it slowly builds into a whole picture, but each with slightly different skews/endings. I would love to see more writing like this in the SGA genre.
redick4 chapter 1 . 3/5/2006
Woosh, it's a dark onion this one. Still cool though.
anonymous chapter 1 . 2/9/2006
You are absolutely amazing. This was unbelievably good, complete and total beauty.

Thank you.
drufan chapter 1 . 2/8/2006
Took me awhile to get the courage to read the whole thing thru. Each snippet expanding on the one before and showing a different unwanted outcome until the end. Bit of a roller coaster and not sure if the final outcome was going to be the happily ever after. Well done.
Linnzi chapter 1 . 2/8/2006
Wonderful, as usual. Very tense, emotionally driven and powerful. Love it. Brilliant.
D3lete Accountplease chapter 1 . 2/7/2006
Brilliant.
Dr. Dredd chapter 1 . 2/7/2006
I liked how we gradually find out more and more about the situation. (Heck, I thought the kid was a little boy until the end.) It was even more poignant that the girl seemed to be asking Sheppard to do it, as if she trusted him to give her a cleaner death than the Wraith.

Of course, it was good to see in the last version that neither had to make the sacrifice.
Laura-trekkie chapter 1 . 2/7/2006
I liked how the details built in each version and we got more of John's emotional turmoil as he struggled with the difficult choices he'd been given.

The girl became more real each time too, as the details drew a more substantial picture of her.

I have to say that parts 1-4 were all very sad and each outcome was eminently plausible. Number five was the best though, niot only the most detailed, but also the happy ending with the rescue and John taking the girl with him.
Lucygoosey chapter 1 . 2/7/2006
Whew, thank God. I started to fear where this was going long about section three, but I couldn't stop reading.
PurpleYin chapter 1 . 2/7/2006
This was certainly a strange story but kind of mesmerising in its morbidity. They were so amazingly frakked but it was interesting to see more and more revealed each time, to see all the possibilities from self-sacrificing to morally dubious to a happy ending. Very interesting and a pleasure to read.
