hengrimm chapter 1 . 4/6 What a sweet, lovely story beautifully told! This kept me riveted (and I'm not even a fan of 1st-person POV). It was a wonderful way to highlight what Peter (who was always my favorite character) means to his younger siblings and how much he loves them. Lovely, lovely tale. Thanks for sharing! |

phoenixqueen chapter 1 . 1/10/2011 Huh. I've read this one several times, and I thought that I had reviewed it, but I never did. Bad me! So, to remedy that situation... This is an amazing story, Shannon. I am completely mind-boggled by it. The caring and love between Edmund and Peter - you nail it every single bloody time. I wish I could write the two of them half as well as you do. My major Narnia story, Between Families is no where near as good at portraying their relationship as you manage with every story! I love the idea of Peter having asthma. I don't know why, I suppose its all of that hurt/comfort stuff that we writers love. It is such a simple idea, and ironically enough, it provides so much fodder for angst that it's unbelievable. I mean, there's only so many ways that you can injure someone to the point of death without it actually *killing* them, but a chronic illness is something that doesn't actually get used very often. I love Edmund's worry, and his mothering behavior. I know that you briefly touched on the story about Peter diving into the river and getting sick as a result, but I would love to see a story that expands on that - just how sick *did* Peter get? What did the Narnians think? Do they have anything remotely resembling asthma in Narnia? I wouldn't think so, which would mean someone like Oreius, or Tumnus would have to be panicking, wondering what could possibly be wrong with the High King, especially after he passes out. Please, please, please...if you need some sort of brain storm for a one-shot that is the story that I would love to see more than any other, because I know you'll put your amazing touch on it, just like you do on everything else that you write! Write on my friend! |
