Words cannot describe how thoroughly I enjoyed this story; every different from what I'm used to reading and for that, was all the more surprising the further in I read into the tale.

You captured Boromir's turmoil over his past decisions and how he would face a future he would not have had if not for the divine intervention of those who came before him and the Elves.

Huh! That's it! sigh! Groan! I was hoping for more. This chapter is way way way too short. :( You must start on another story ASAP. (erm, please) ;)

In previous chapters, you had hinted at the healing of minds and bodies that needed to be done.

Anyway, I like the scene near the end with Aragorn, Legolas, Boromir, and Gimli. Great idea to make Boromir the Steward over Arnor, just.. it'll be hard to see him living so far away from his brother and the country that he has always loved so much. That could be the premise for your next tale. hint hint. Aragorn and Boromir going to Arnor to help build the country back up, Legolas and Gimli visiting the various places they keep talking about. Of course, as Faramir is my favorite character you will have to make some chapters for him also. ;)

Well, I do hope that you mean to write more tales for those of us fanatics that are still very much involved in LOTR fanfictions. Thanks for writing! More, PLEASE!

Most Excellent! Lovely update! :) :) I'm finally back from vacation and in a reading and reviewing mood. I was so hoping for Faramir tales in my faves to be updated. Yay!

I loved the scene with the brothers 'Mir visiting their father's tomb and their remininsces of Denethor.

I always love it more when it is Fara's idea to join the Rangers and not ordered or sent away by Denethor as it is in so many tales. You, Jenolas, have written Dene very well. Dene is hiding behind that facade of toughness towards his youngest son in public, yet out of the public eye, he shows kindness towards the young man.

Aww! "..he would come to my room with a tray of supper after he had sent me from the table as punishment and he would stay and tell me tales of long ago.”"

And I love the moment of forgiveness by Fara, "..as he reached out to trace the image of his father's face as Bormir had done earlier. It was a gesture of both love and forgiveness that needed no words to be understood." sniffles!

I can hardly wait until Arwen and Eowyn get to Minas Tirith so they can complete their plot of embracing Boromir's return by a celebration. :) :)

Most anxiously looking forward to the next chapter!
Susan W chapter 15 . 5/4/2008
MOST EXCELLENT! I am delighted to see an update to this wonderful tale. It's been soo long I had to go back and reread the very last of chapter 14. ;)

"“Aye, and all of Minas Tirith is aware of who draws near.” Legolas replied with a sparkle in his eye that spoke of a little mischief and perhaps a secret or two. His silvery laughter of happiness warmed Aragorn’s heart and banished his dark thoughts, at least for a time." Ah yes! Now I remember that mischievious look in Legolas' eyes! :) :) It goes so well with the first line of Chapter 15, "A tendency towards understatement..". That's because Legolas did not want to give out too much just yet! He wanted to see that surprise and happiness on his friend's faces.

“And you know this how?”

“Do you see that rise over there?” Aragorn nodded as he looked to where Legolas pointed. “Not only do my Elf eyes tell me we are close to the city, but also they can see the people bearing flowers and banners and gaily-coloured streamers gathered outside the gate waiting for the Lord Boromir. There are many market stalls and such, and much singing and dancing. I also see men on horses, riding this way, with your Steward in the lead.” Legolas explained, his eyes alight with joy for his friend."

Loved Dareth's response to the understated "many" once he and Faramir have turned to ride back to the city with Aragorn's party. "“Do my eyes deceive me or have many more people arrived in the last few minutes,” Dareth queried drily." :) :)

“I would expect nothing less from his beloved city, he deserves nothing less,” Aragorn replied, equally as pleased at the obviously very welcoming reception that awaited Boromir." Yeah! :) :)

"“You are safe, you are home, son of Gondor,” a voice he recognised as that of Elros whispered reassuringly in his ear. It was the last voice he heard before he collapsed." An excellent scene as Boromir must stop to admire the White Tree in bloom. And the voice of Elros tells him he is Home!

"“I never felt you were really gone, so I ordered your chambers be kept as they were,” Faramir explained, instinctively answering the unspoken question in Boromir’s eyes. “I missed you Boromir. I am so glad you came back to us.”" Sigh! AWW!

I just knew that Boromir would have to go visit his father one last time.

Lovely update and welcome back!

I know I can hardly wait for the next update!

As remiss as I have been in commenting, I would like to say how very much I am enjoying seeing Boromir come home alive, despite the difficulties which must lie ahead. Personal preferences are about to take second place to politics at some point, I fear.

Thank you!

I am in love with this story and its so incredibly well written, so please continue! Boromir is one of my favorite LotR characters and you've done an amazing job portraying him. I can't wait to see what happens next and hope you are able to update soon. :)

This is a good story, well done.
Susan W chapter 14 . 9/15/2007
YAY! Jumping for joy that you finally updated once again. :) :)

snicker! I love Dareth's response to Faramir's "are you certain" question. "“I will admit to distrusting my own eyes for a few moments, but once he acknowledged me, and our long-standing wager of course, there was no doubt our Lord Boromir had returned.”"

"The words were spoken rapidly but with such joy that had not been seen in his friend for a long time that it warmed the ranger’s heart to see it." Oh! Yes, it warmed my heart to see it also! :) :) Bori is coming home, Bori is coming home, in a sing-song voice.

Dareth takes my favorite line of the update with this; "..try to get some sleep. No doubt you will find little time to do so once you have Boromir back here to annoy!”" snicker! I can see Fara's excitement showing through those tired eyes. He'll be anxious until Bori, Aragorn, and Legolas return to the city. Poor Fara! It will be a slow ride that 15 miles from Osgiliath with Bori still truly not up to riding yet, it will seem like forever to Fara. :(

Persuasive Rangers and an excited Steward will get the citizens ready for celebrating the return of their Champion. I too wonder how Bori's return effects Fara's standing as Steward, although, I have a feeling that it wont. This is so very Fara; "But that could be decided later. All he really cared about at the moment was that his long lost and much beloved brother was coming home." yay!

Snicker! It seems that Aragorn has a good excuse to stop and take pipe smoking breaks covered in his concern to allow Bori a break in riding. ;) :P

I was right! Bori will not take up the White Rod of Stewardship. "“The role of Steward is his; I will not claim it."

Aragorn has such an excellent Steward now, it would be hard to change. "Undoubtedly it was his Steward who had asked the rangers to see to both the safety of the King and his travelling companions." Very Faramirish. ;) :)

Bless Legolas and his elven vision! ;) :) Such excellent eyesight has them prepared for Bori's reception home. Most Excellent!

The last of this update was most excellent, especially Aragorn's last sentence. "“I would expect nothing less from his beloved city, he deserves nothing less,” Aragorn replied, equally as pleased at the obviously very welcoming reception that awaited Boromir." YAY!

I love it when I see an update to this tale! Must we wait for the next? sigh! Most Anxiously awaiting the next update!

I am reading (although I'm woefully behind). Thank you for writing this - I will catch up!

Cheers!
Susan W chapter 13 . 8/17/2007
YAY! MOST EXCELLENT! I absolutely love that you have returned to this tale! *finally! :) :) What a nice surprise for my birthday today to see this updated! :) :) I certainly hope that it wont be another 9 months before it gets updated again. Please! *begging with puppy dog eyes.

I love the return of Boromir to his city. I too wonder about how his return effects everything and what role he will now play in Gondorian society. Will he go back to being General of the armies or will Faramir cede his Stewardship in favor of his brother? hmm!

The scene in Osgiliath was excellent. The fact that you gave the ancient city a bit of life with people residing there, including the tavern, is a nice touch. Wherever an army is stationed there is always going to other life around them, camp followers, shop owners that would cater to a soldier's needs, and such.

I like this Dareth guy. He sounds like an interesting OC. I like well-written and fully realized original characters. I guess he was offering to go tell Fara about Bori's return? I'll bet Dareth will be hard pressed to keep Fara from dashing out that night to go see his beloved brother. :) :)

Oh! This caught my attention at the beginning of the tale, that Bori was worried about Fara. Hmm! Why is that? ;) :)

Well, excellent chapter. Sad to see Haldir and his brothers leave the tale. Maybe they can return in the near future! hint hint!

Absolutely and Most Anxiously awaiting the next update!
