I think this is nice.

The way Caspian remembered the Pevensies was interesting and full of feeling.

I liked it.

Inactive1357 chapter 1 . 10/26/2007
A very, very good story! Excellent job drawing parallels people woldn't ordinarily notice - the four and the poitns of the compass, for example. I loved it! Great job!
Miniver chapter 1 . 3/27/2007
This is one of my favorite stories. Though short, it has the evocative power of a multi-chapter work. I love your use of the four directions, and the inclusion of the torch for Edmund that makes up for the lack of gift from Father Christmas. Caspian has always been one of my favorite characters (after the Pevensies, of course), and this story brings him out beautifully. I just love his characterization of Lucy. Recently people have been writing her as very young-doubtless because Georgie Henley was so effective in the film-but she was "the Valiant," after all! My favorite passage, though, may be the one that presents Peter, when you mention that Rilian would pledge his allegiance to Peter when he assumed the throne. Amazing how you made the Four seem present in the room even though they were deep in history by that time. A splendid job!-and a story I reread frequently.
Alaynthe chapter 1 . 11/26/2006
This was simply wonderful. Caspian is one of my favorites and I've wondered a lot what his life with Rilian and Ramandu's daughter was like. Great reflections on all the characters, not just the Pevensies. I like the idea of there being tapestries of the Pevensies in the castle! :D
Lothloriel chapter 1 . 9/11/2006
This is a truly lovely bit of Caspian/Rilian bonding. We don't see nearly enough of either of them. I especially loved the addition of Ed's torch..I've often wondered where he left it and if it was discovered.
Andi Horton chapter 1 . 4/17/2006
And she can do one-shots, too. Why am I not surprised? Brilliantly handled, a pleasure to read, and wow, can I ever see it happening. The lesson is incredibly touching and it rings so true that I just had to read it twice over again for the sheer technical, literary satisfaction of the thing. Delicious in all the best ways, and I'm hungry for more.
Amberle Elessedil chapter 1 . 4/6/2006
I don't think I've ever seen such an original portrayal of the Pevensies. Character studies are common, especially after the movie where, let's face it, we suddenly get a lot of new material to work with, but Caspian seeing portraits of the monarchs of the Golden Age is something I've never seen before. And you just had such an interesting take on them all! The lessons that Rilian could learn from them; the memories Caspian had coupled with the old legends of the Golden Age. Is there just a hint of Caspian/Lucy there? A lovely pairing, and all the better because you aknowledge that Caspian also has love for his wife. And I thought you did a brilliant job with Peter, who is one of my favourite characters. A lovely one-shot, and truly worthy of Narnia!
Clopina chapter 1 . 3/12/2006
This is very beautiful! *-*

I love this story!

I add this to my favourites. XD
rooty-boots chapter 1 . 3/11/2006
Wow... mate, Rilian's not the only one with "the blood of stars flowing in his veins!"

This is beautiful, truly beautiful. I've always loved the idea that the four are part of one whole, like the Mappa Mundi. The North, South, East, West thing is not new, but the way you've articulated it so delicately - seriously, I'm truly a bit teary eyed.

I'm adding this to my favourites.

Yay for you!
Almyra chapter 1 . 3/8/2006
This is such a good story - I have enjoyed it so much. Excellent character description - from the curious Rilian to a much more mature Caspian than we see in Dawn Treader to the wonderful portraits of the Four. I agree with you - Skandar made Edmund come more alive for me (my favorite has been always and still is Peter), and although my correctness instinct wants to write him as blond, I just can't! :o) Thank you again - terrific story.
