"It was so much harder to hold on to the raw hurt inside him when confronted so glaringly with Sam's. He had never been able to let Sammy suffer, and since there wasn't room enough inside him for both of their pain, he let his go."

I am in love with those lines they're so perfectly Dean as if you opened up his head and looked around. Excellant characterization

A beautiful story!

Yep, it is the Winchester version of I love you. You hit it.

You write often in short sentences. I do, too. I like that way of writing,it works often. You do a nice spin on it.

When you're talking about Mary, you use the word Before and capitalized the "B". I think this was intentional. I like that, too. I do that with Evil and Good.

This was lovely. Really liked Dean's anguish and how his brother had to hate him and then only to realize - giving him the gun might have been a bad idea. He really does love me afterall.

And just like that I'm in love with the story.. )

Loved the story. Asylum stories are one of my favorites. I like just about any of the missing scenes stories. The line that i like the best is this one. So like Dean smart ass.

"Next time I won’t offer him the gun though. Bad idea."

And this line sums up their whole life together in the way of where one starts the other ends

"They had gone into each fight shoulder to shoulder, each filling in where the other left off."

And of course who could forget the Winchester version of I love you

"You’re my brother, and I’d die for you."

I just love this missing scene ... the show needed it so badly. Great job really like how you had dean all tough and pissed off then we watched him melt into the big brother we know and love. good job

Very well written, I could easily see Sam guilt, Dean's pain etc. A moving moment that tugs at anyone's heartstrings :) Excellent job.
