I love this so much. How everything is complex and complicated but so understandably human. It's just beautiful.

Yeah, Spike and Riley ever being friends is about the most unlikely thing to ever happen. But I do like how they can connect here over similar feelings, though with rather different sources. And the idea that Spike sees Angelus as his sire, not Drusilla.

This is really amazing. I loved it, very much. The way you wrote their conversation is very literal (Spike's story was written very well, by the way) but, at the end, it came off as pleasantly ambiguous, as though something happened that I haven't quite grasped. I'm intrigued. You are a very good writer.

This should have happened on the show. WHY didn't this happen on the show?

It's the part about Spike understanding utterly that Angelus during season two was stark-raving crackers (and not in a good way) that made me like this. Well done. :)

Oh that was great! I love the parallel between Angel beating Riley physically and Spike beating him just as soundly with words. Its SO Spike. And the reminiscing of back when they were a gang was so perfect. Great work!

Wow. I was completely caught up in the world Spike described, the "family" that terrorized Europe. And his demand that Riley say how he hated Buffy... I really think that hate and love can be intertwined, when they are such strong emotions.

Riley's last line, "You know what a lucky guy I am." is just so powerful. Just... wow. You might get me reading Buffy fanfic, with this as a sample.
