A wonderful story! I feel that Neville is very underrated but you have portrayed him and other characters perfectly. Although in my opinion Snape was a little too soft. It was a pleasure to read this story. Thank you so much !

It's so fascinating how much Neville has changed, just by taking part in the DA. He used to be the small chubby shy and clumsy boy with his father's wand, that's been referred to as a squib, and now look at him, standing up to Bellatrix Lestrange, even if only in portrait, with his own wand after sticking his father's into a death eater's eye. But I can't believe how much his Aunt and Uncle (Enid and Algie) pull him down and make him inconfident, by giving him a children's toy broomstick for his 16th birthday. He's not good at flying, but did he get encouragement? Pep-talks saying that he can do it, if he believes in himself? Telling him how brave he is and that he can do anything, if he sets his mind to it? He didn't get any of that until the DA...

Does he really believe that Harry only hangs out with him because Augusta broke her hip?

How did you even get the idea of the Orphans Welfare League? It's great, but how do people get such perfect ideas? I want to be that creative, but I just can't manage to come up with funny or great story ideas!

This was just a gorgeous story. Neville is one of my favorite characters and you've really done him justice. I also loved how you wrote the other main characters - Harry, Lupin & especially Snape. There were some turns of phrase in these last three chapters that are just poetic, when Neville resisted the Cruciatus and how he thought about it afterward. Thank you.

I finished reading this fic today, and just wanted to leave a quick review to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Instead of one of those overly trodden stories that come up all the time, I really enjoyed this one. Having Neville in the focus, staying pretty much in character while Harry was being the annoying hothead (that's often Ron in stories, sigh), was a nice change of pace.

Also the fact that there wasn't much romance (I quite like the genre, but sometimes it's nice to read a story without it) was a fresh breath of air. The character interactions were good, believable, and I liked your portayal of both Snape and Remus in the story.

Even hermione could master a first year, tonks as an auror definitely can! This feels like implying that she eventually died in the war because she couldn't do proper spells and all because Neville at least has the excuse of using his father's wand.

That's not true though, tonks was very accomplished, just clumsy. She was shitty at household spells but was otherwise a good auror, just young.
