yes, indeedy, it's twisted, but it seems almost in character. For Firesong, being ignored would be a fate worse than death.

Was it necessary to kill him? It was funny until you killed him! But, nonetheless, well written and hope to read more.

Strange, and interesting. ) I like the idea, but I don't particularly like the way Firesong speaks. I don't mean the language, although that is part of the reason it doesn't really sound like the Firesong I remember from the ML stories. But maybe it isn't completely supposed to? Anyway, otherwise, I liked it. Especially Aya. I've loved that bird ever since Firesong almost killed it, and I think your portrayal of Aya is true to the ML books' portrayal. )

Well it certainly is different... I liked Firesong though, and he was too vain and bright to ever go down like this. No offense to you as a writer though. This was well written. _

I like it, it's odd and kinda angsty. But I'd like to make two comments. 1 open up you copy of Magic's Pawn to the time line, now look at the dates. Keep in mind Van was 16 at the end of Pawn. That over 80 years, and he was young enough to run around like he was 16. 2 in The Mage wars saga, (or was it someplace else?) it was mentioned that adpets age slowly and when they do die they get burned out from the inside so to speak, live long then die quickly. But I liked the story.

I like this, it's going on my favorites list!
